Tomato Basil Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2013
I've made this several times now and each time it's always a hit. So much better than your typical pasta salad that you see at every family gathering. The first time I made this, I followed the exact recipe and it was good although a tad bland, but still good as written. Now I've perfected it to my family's tastes by adding some fresh baby spinach, a little extra garlic, a tablespoon of sun dried tomatoes that I had on hand and a few drizzles of White Balsamic Vinegar. I love that it can be served warm or cold. My only regret - I keep forgetting to take photos to post.

Mouth-Watering Stuffed Mushrooms

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2013
I've made many different stuffed mushroom recipes - some with sausage, some with crab, some with stuffing, all of which are delicious but I was searching for a recipe with just cream cheese when I came across this one. First things first, they were a hit! They went so fast that I barely had a chance to get two in before they were gone (which is a good sign). I made them EXACTLY as the recipe calls for and luckily I had bought extra mushrooms because the filling makes more than 12 easily. I will definately be making these again because they were so quick and easy to make and that's a big plus in my book.

DELICIOUS! I did follow others reviews and used the butterscotch pudding mix but other than that, I followed the recipe as written and I can't wait to make this again!

Penne with Spring Vegetables

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2012
After tasting this receipe as written, I'd give this recipe 4 stars, because it was a bit on the bland side. With a little tweaking such as adding a little Balsamic Vinegar and minced garlic to the pasta mixture - I'd rate it a definate 5 star recipe. The second time I made it, at the last minute I realized that I didn't have snow peas so I threw in halved grape tomatoes and I really liked that combination as well. Definately a great base recipe as it and easily adaptable to your liking

Caprese on a Stick

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2012
I give this recipe a 5 star because not only was it delicious, but it was so EASY, my favorite ingredient for a recipe. I followed the recipe as is, using boconccini mozerella balls, and I added balsamic vinegar and marinated for approx 3 hours before serving. I wish that I had time to take a picture, but they were such a hit that they were gone in minutes. Next time I'll add a salami cube - yum!

Garlic Red Potatoes

DELICIOUS! Takes a little longer but it's worth it. I've served these up with steaks, pork chops, grilled chicken and they've been a HUGE hit every single time.

Best Spanish Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2012
I usually make my own Spanish Rice but was never all that pleased with it. I came across this recipe and thought I'd give it a try. Definately 5 stars - because it's so easy and most people have all the ingredients on hand. The only change I made was that I also added fresh minced garlic with the onion. It was definately a hit with my smothered burritos, my company loved it.

Crab Pasta Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2012
This salad was fantastic! We had to make a couple of changes only because we were too lazy to run to the store a second time. We left out the broccoli and instead of using green pepper we used diced celery for crunch. This was truly delicious, so good in fact that it got eaten before I could snap a picture. I've asked my daughter to make it for me again.

Tomato, Basil, and Feta Salad

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2012
If you follow the recipe as written, it's very light and refreshing and perfect for those hot summer nights. I've made this several times and it's always delicious and just right when you're not in the mood to eat something heavy. Unfortunately we ate it before I thought to take a photo.

Spicy Shrimp and Tomato Scampi

Reviewed: Mar. 12, 2012
As written, this recipe is very tasty and gets 4-1/2 stars in my book! The only thing that I wasn't that happy about was that the sauce seemed kind of watery - but it was still good. The second time I made this, I added 1/4 cup heavy cream and fresh mushrooms - this bumped it up that 1/2 star to make it 5 stars! This will definately be a keeper

Healthy Turkey Loaf

Reviewed: Oct. 20, 2011
I was looking for a healthy way to fix my ground turkey and came across this recipe. I've made meatloaf with turkey before but thought this would be a nice change. It turned out really good! The only thing I did different was that I used a can of Rotel tomatoes with habenero chilies because I didn't have salsa & didn't want to go to the store. I made individual servings in a cupcake pan - for a single person, this works GREAT! Just grab & go.

Stuffed Cabbage Rolls

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2011
I've got one word for this recipe . . . DELICIOUS! I followed the recipe exact and thought it was really tasty. The second time around (that's how good it was, it required a 2nd time) I added in minced garlic, red pepper flakes and a shake of worchestershire to the meat mixture. I thought I had tomato soup at home but I didn't so I had to use tomato sauce, unfortunately all I had was a small can so I combined that with 1/2 jar of Prego Spicy tomato & Basil spaghetti sauce. It turned out to be a very tasty mistake that I'll make again. My only regret was that I didn't take the time to take a photo.

Spinach Enchiladas

Reviewed: Oct. 6, 2011
This was very tasty & so easy to make. The only "tweaking" I did to this recipe is that I used fresh spinach and added a can of green chilies to the mixture. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because of the enchilada sauce. And that's only because I've made this twice and used a different sauce each time but I can't seem to find one that tastes "authentic". So next time I try this recipe, I'll also make my own sauce and see how that comes out. But the filling portion of this recipe is 5 stars in my book.

Herbed Mushrooms with White Wine

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2011
I followed this recipe as written and would not change a thing! Normally once I try a recipe for the first time, I will follow it as written and the next time I make it, I will tweak it to my liking. This recipe needed no tweaking what-so-ever. Everybody LOVED it! This recipe was an excellent addition to Rack of lamb & Gnocchi with Fontina Cheese sauce (found at allrecipes). I will definately be making this one again as well as other family members that asked for this recipe.

Gnocchi in Fontina Sauce

Reviewed: May 10, 2011
This was the 1st time I've ever had gnocchi but my brother has made this recipe and gave it rave reviews so I thought I'd try it for Mother's Day dinner. I followed the recipe EXACTLY as written and everybody loved it! I served it with grilled chicken & corn on the cob. Unfortunately it was gone before I could get pictures of the meal. I will definately be making this again.

Chicken Fried Chicken

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
This was a great recipe! I'm not sure if Panko flakes are the same as potato flakes, but I used Panko flakes and had to pound each chicken breast with a meat mallot since they were so thick. This is definately a dish I'll make again. Tastes wonderful when served with McCormick's white gravy mix and mashed potatoes

Easy Asparagus

Reviewed: Apr. 5, 2011
I made this recipe last night for company and got mixed reviews. I followed the recipe EXACTLY as written because it drives me nuts when people rate a recipe after they've completely changed it. So based on the written recipe, I would give it 4 stars only because it wasn't something that I can't wait to try again. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, my daughter liked it, I just thought it was ok.

Fish Fillets Italiano

Reviewed: Feb. 24, 2011
I am a firm believer in rating a recipe as it was written. With that being said, I would give this recipe 4 stars based on the written recipe. 4 stars because it was quick, healthy and the ingredients are something that I usually always have on hand which is always a plus for any recipe. Once it was done, I thought it needed to be tweaked a bit, so I added red pepper flakes, pepper & Italian seasoning to the mix. These additions helped it to not be so bland. I served the mixture over a bed of fresh spinach and added a pinch of parmeasean cheese on top and wellah . . . turned this recipe into 5 stars! Too bad the battery on my camera was dead because this looked really fancy on my plate. Next time I think I'll add fresh mushrooms - and trust me - there will be a next time for making this recipe. Thank you for sharing Bonnie.

Shrimp Francesca

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2011
I wish that I could give this recipe more than 3 stars - but I wasn't that crazy about it. I followed the recipe exactly as written, even went to Tony's Meat Market to get the best shrimp as well as the pricey romano cheese. I made it for my daughter for Valentine's day and neither of us were that impressed, which was a huge dissappointment since this recipe got such great reviews. I wouldn't say that it tasted bad, but I wouldn't spend the money to make it again. Sorry Milonek
