A wonderful recipe, made this cake twice this holiday season...very good, does not need icing at all..just a dusting of powdered sugar.

The best brownie recipe out there! Dense, fudgy, sweet. Everything a brownie should be. If you like your brownies cakey look else where. ***Made this recipe a second time...I halfed the recipe...works great in an 8x8 pan.

Microwave Oven Peanut Brittle

This is a great recipe! And very easy! I had to adjust the cooking time a little and I used mixed nuts rather than peanuts. I'll definitely make this again!

Salad Dressing Cupcakes

These were great! I used full fat mayo rather than 'salad dressing' and they turned out great! I topped them with a chocolate fudge frosting.

Challah I

Reviewed: Apr. 1, 2009
Wonderful recipe and wonderful Bread! I have only failed at all the bread/dough recipes I've had prior to this one! This dough was silky and smooth, rose well and was easy to prepare and knead. I used my kitchenaid to mix the dough then turned it out and kneaded by hand. I let it rise in the over with a pan of just boiled water on the bottom rack, easily doubled in size. The baking time was exactly right and the loaves were golden brown and lovely! The only change I made to to recipe was to use half honey and half brown sugar (but only because I ran out of honey). I will definitely be making this again!

Baked Buffalo Wings

Reviewed: Nov. 10, 2008
These are great! A regular recipe in our house now. I try to remove as much skin as I can from the wings prior to dredging in flour. I find if I don't do this there is too much grease from the skin and the cookie sheet I bake them on needs to be drained so they crisp up. I may try baking them on a rack on a cookie sheet so they crisp more easily next time.

My Best Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2008
The red wine vinegar really brightens the flavour of this soup so don't leave it out. I took other reviewers suggestions and added bacon. I rendered bacon in the pot for the roux...took the bacon out and added the butter to the bacon fat for extra flavour...there was about 1 1/2 tbsp of bacon fat total. Great creaminess and flavour..

Spaghetti Carbonara II

delicious! I added an extra egg (but then i didn't measure my spaghetti). Great flavour. I think next time I will use more bacon. Also, the parmesan makes all the difference. Buy the good stuff not the shaker.

Clone of a Cinnabon

Very good. This will be a keeper. I forgot to allow for a 2nd rise after forming and they were still great! Needed a bit longer baking time....but that was due to my slow oven.

Mom's Best Waffles

mmm...not bad...a little tough and dense. I think if I made these again I would take the suggestion of separating the eggs and adding them separate. I also added cinnamon and vanilla extract for flavour.

Flourless Chocolate Cake II

Reviewed: Oct. 2, 2008
Good recipe. I followed the reviewers suggestion to use all chocolate and omit to cocoa. It took well over the suggested baking time in my oven. I baked the cake (with changes) for an additional 10 minutes....could have used 15 or 20. But great flavour. Will make again with the changes and increased baking time.

Not bad! Substituted hoisin and honey for the chutney...also added some fresh ginger. Took a bit longer to bake 6 drumsticks...about 1 hour....and I left it at 400 degrees the whole time.

Cinnamon Sugar Biscotti

Reviewed: Sep. 25, 2008
Wonderful Recipe! The only thing I changed was to add almond extract instead of vanilla as some reviewers commented on a bland flavour. I also took the one reviewers suggestion to add the flour 1/4c at a time and blend well between. I thought the dough would not come together when I turned it out from the mixer...but I kneeded it a bit and it came together well. My boyfriend is not a cookie lover and he has already eaten 3. I also found that 15 minutes for the 2nd bake was not quite long enough...I "toasted" the cookies for a full 25 minutes and they were still a little soft in the centre. Great recipe, I will definitely make this again.

Chicken Pot Pie VIII

Great base recipe. Needs a bit of seasoning. I added about 1/2tsp of onion and garlic powders. A dash of oregano and some more S&P. I also added a splash of 2% milk to thin it a bit. 1/2 the recipe was just enough to make a full 9" pie. I used Martha Stewart's pastry recipe for the crust....which is buttery and delicious.

KELLOGG'S* RICE KRISPIES* Hot 'N Spicy Party Mix

Reviewed: Aug. 21, 2008
This recipe is ok, the flavour is good, but the Rice Krispies in this are pointless. This needs shreddies, pretzels, peanuts etc. Rice is just too small for a snack mix. I doubled the 'marinade'.

Lemon Fluff Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 30, 2008
This is a wonderful, dense, moist cake. I used lime juice and zest instead of the lemon. I used about 4 table spoons of lime juice and the zest from one lime. I also glazed it with a lime glaze. (1 cup icing sugar, 1 tbsp margerine, 2 - 4 tbsp lime juice). It was delicious! Even my boyfriend liked it and he is not a fan of cake. I made this in a bundt pan. It makes a small bundt but because the cake is so rich the size was just right. Oh, I also substituted the shortening for a 1/2cup square/stick of margerine.

Favorite Corn Bread

Served this with baked beans and pork chops! It was a hit with the boyfriend. I used 1/2 c. margerine instead of shortening and added a cup of cooked frozen corn too. Very good!
