Awesome Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Reviewed: May 11, 2001
I made this recipe for supper yesterday and it was awesome. I added one pressed clove of garlic to the pot along with potatoes and carrots. I had sliced my vegetables and they cooked too fast so I had to remove them from the crock. It wasn't a big problem because I reheated them in the microwave and put them back in the crock about an hour before supper. Next time, I'll cut them up in big chunks to see how that works out. This is an excellent recipe which I will make again and again. Lucille

J.P.'s Big Daddy Biscuits

Reviewed: Apr. 19, 2001
I've made this recipe quite a few times and the biscuits are always perfect. These biscuits are not only BIG but also delicious. Friends and family beg for this recipe. I like being able to put the ingredients together early in the day. That saves me time when I'm busy cooking the meal. I highly recommend this recipe. It's great! Lucille

Bread Machine Calzone

Reviewed: Apr. 18, 2001
I made this recipe for supper last night and it's another winner. The dough was perfect and I didn't have to let it rest long to roll it out into a rectangle. It was picture perfect coming out of the oven and was as delicious as it looked. This is another winner. Thanks, Kevin, for sharing this wonderful recipe. Lucille

French Bread Rolls to Die For

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2001
To freshen up these rolls the next day, put the rolls in a paper bag, sprinkle the bag with cold water, and put in a preheated oven at 350F for 5 minutes. They'll taste as good as the first day. These rolls freeze well too. Defrost in the plastic bag and let the ice crystals get absorbed back into the rolls, then freshen as stated above.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2001
These muffins are the very best! Since we're not big on sweets, I cut down the crumb topping to half the recipe. They still turned out perfect. I also used a nonstick spray on my muffin tin first. The outside of the muffins turned out nice and crisp and so tender on the inside. I'll be making these again and again and again. Thanks, Colleen, for another great recipe. lrw1

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2001
What a shame that I can't give this recipe 6 stars. It's delicious and so easy to prepare. I think it will be a long time before I make lasagna again. We don't care for provolone cheese, so I substituted sliced sharp cheddar. I made half the recipe but used the full pound of ground beef. I also baked this half recipe in a Corningware baking pan that's a tad smaller than 8X11" and it wasn't too big. Thanks for sharing, Colleen, this is now a favorite in this family. lrw1

Beef Tenderloin With Roasted Shallots

Reviewed: Mar. 15, 2001
This is one of the best meals I've ever made. The meat was flavorful and extremely tender and the sauce was the crowning touch. The roasted shallots were a nice compliment to the dish and added a very nice flavor. The only change I made was to cook my beef a bit more; 125 degrees is a bit rare for us. This recipe is just the very best! lrw1

Baked Spaghetti I

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2001
I've been making this recipe for a couple of years and everybody loves it! I use a 28 oz can of crushed tomatoes in tomato puree instead of the tomatoes specified in the recipe. I find that the tomatoes I use are sweeter than the others. This recipe is definitely a "keeper". lrw1
