Quick and Easy Refried Beans

Reviewed: Jun. 24, 2015
4.5 Stars: Quick and good. I halved the recipe and may have used a bit too much garlic, but really liked them. Go easy on the lime.

Baked Ziti with Sausage

Reviewed: Jun. 22, 2015
This was a Father's Day hit. The only change I made was to add fresh basil I was growing. It will feed a crowd, or do as I did and put half in the freezer.

Grilled Asian Chicken

Reviewed: Jun. 17, 2015
4.5 Stars: I heated the marinade and marinated the meat overnight. I put three deep cuts in each breast so the marinade gets in better. I boiled the marinade, baked the chicken and basted. The flavor was good.

Slow Cooker Pork

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2015
4.5 Stars: I used a pork loin, trimmed of all fat and rubbed two packages of taco seasoning on it. I only used 1/3 cup water and cooked it for 6 hours. It made great soft tacos. Super easy, but be careful with the time or the pork will get mushy. 6 hours was right for a 4 lb. pork loin.

Chinese-Style Broccoli Salad

This was good and I will use it again as a side dish with Asian food.

Teriyaki Thai Chicken Marinade

Reviewed: Jun. 10, 2015
I made slits in the chicken and marinated overnight, then baked. It was good and the chicken picked up the flavor. I will make it again.

Microwave Corn on the Cob

Reviewed: Jun. 9, 2015
I can't believe I am this old and never tried fresh corn in the microwave. I did not use the wet paper towel, just put 3 freshly husked ears of corn on a plate and microwaved for 6 minutes. It's great!

Cola Beans

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2015
I agree with the reviewer who said you could just open up fancier canned beans and get the same effect. No cola flavor. The plus here is being able to make them in the slow cooker. The flavor wasn't bad, it just wasn't special.

Tasty Tortellinis

Reviewed: Jun. 8, 2015
The flavor was good, but there was too much oil. It puddled on the plate, which was rather unappetizing. I let it marinate in the dressing for 8 hours, so perhaps it needs an overnight soak.

Slow Cooker Spicy Black-Eyed Peas

Reviewed: May 18, 2015
4.5 stars: This is a great way to make peas using the crock pot during the summer and when needing to save a stove burner. I gave it 5, because I changed some things. I used a leftover ham bone, and did not use the bacon since it had a little fat. I also left out the onion (used onion powder), red bell peppers and jalapeno for a child. Still, very good and ready in 5 hours on low. I plan to make it with ALL of the ingredients sometime.

Cilantro Lime Catfish

Reviewed: May 18, 2015
I will use less butter next time. I feel like it poached in butter the first 10 minutes and I think I can reduce calories and keep flavor. The cilantro wasn't really noticeable at all. My fish fell apart, but that's my deal, probably. All in all, I will do this again.

Chocolate Syrup

Reviewed: Apr. 27, 2015
Mine did not thicken at all, but the chocolate flavor is rich and good.

Salmon with Lemon and Dill

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2015
There was either too much dill or too much lemon for us. It was better in the thicker sections. My husband does not want me to make it again, but it's not that bad.

Brazilian White Rice

This is good, although I did not let my rice brown long enough.

Original Old Bay® Coleslaw

Reviewed: Mar. 26, 2015
I am not a huge coleslaw fan, but am learning to eat it. This was good and the Old Bay made it a little different. I halved the recipe and there was too much dressing, so that's something to keep in mind next time.

Pan-Fried Asparagus

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2015
4.8 Stars: I used an olive oil, butter mix and the pan got a little dry so I added a bit of chicken broth, which boiled it. I covered it per either this or another recipe, so between the broth and covering, it was a little more done than I wanted. BUT, the recipe is great and I will cook asparagus like this more often.

Superfast Asparagus

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2015
4.5 for fast and easy. I had some premixed Cajun seasoning, garlic pepper, salt and black pepper from another recipe and I sprinkled that on it. Yum.

Lemon-Pepper Salmon II

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2015
5 stars because I am not a huge salmon person (my husband is) and I found this to be both easy and very good. I used Atlantic salmon from the meat market instead of the bagged salmon in the freezer section and that may have made a difference. I covered and baked for 15 minutes on 400, then uncovered for 5 minutes. It's really good
