Pecan Pie Bars II

Awesome recipe! I made for Thanksgiving, and everybody loved them. I am not a fan of pecan pie - too sugary, too gooey, too rich - but the bars have the same flavor and are just right. I used more like 3 cups of pecans - just coated the top until it looked thick and good. Turned out really well, I'd recommend it - I can't imagine them with only 1 cup of pecans.

Toasted Pumpkin Seeds with Sugar and Spice

WONDERFUL new way to eat pumpkin seeds - after so many years of the basic pumpkin seeds a change is well deserved. They were very tasty - and so much better than the usual, will definitly make this way again. I did use only 4 TB sugar as others advised, and they were plenty sweet.

Cheesy Cheeseburger Pizzas

The kids especially loved this recipe, since it's sized just right for them. The feta cheese may sound odd, but it blended in and lightened up the dish and made it lest greasy. I think the title is misleading since they are definitly NOT the greasy cheeseburger flavor stuff.

Italian Breaded Pork Chops

Over the past many years, I have tried to make coated fried chicken or pork, only to have it be burnt on the outside while raw on the inside. This cooking method works - crispy on the outside, cooked inside, moist and good flavor! I am so pleased to find a recipe that actually works!!

Zesty Beef Roast

AMAZINGLY GOOD - the horeseradish taste doesn't stand out, adds a little zip and blends well with all the flavors. I've tried many beef roast recipes, and this one has now become my favorite!

Garlic Red Potatoes

VERY GOOD! I used the other reviews for the following modifications - used 2TB olive oil, coated the potatoes in a ziplock bag then added herbs. Baked 20 minutes at 450 degrees, turned them, then 400 degrees for 15 minutes more. I made them with fresh herbs from the garden and they were wonderful

Key Lime Pie VII

AMAZINGLY EASY for a quick Key Lime Pie that's also good! The flavor is a tad different than the traditional, but it's good and the ease of preparation makes it great. My sister is an afficianado of key lime pies and it passed her review - "not quite exact, but very very good".

Mahogany Chicken Wings

We were looking for a wing recipe that wasn't fried, wasn't BBQ or buffalo. We made one pan of these, and one of Candied Garlic Wings. Everybody preferred these, our 15 year old son ate every one he could find then asked for more. Amazing, and I'm not much of a fan of wings myself.

White Cheese Chicken Lasagna

Wonderful recipe. Quite rich, so make for a treat. I halved the recipe, served 5 well. I used less butter, it's already rich enough with all the cheese - used 2 TB for this size. Use 5 noodles if so, bake in an 8x8 pan. I used more garlic, 2 TB pesto rather than the oregano basil and parsely, added more spinach and chicken, and added one egg to the ricotta. Turned out amazing. For those who like mushrooms they'd also be good added. Also, I used ground chicken which worked very well.

Black Cat Cookies

Wonderful cookies for kids, and they taste good too! We didn't put on sticks, and found using a fork not working well for whiskers. Made the whiskers with the edge of a butter knife. Pull out after about 5 minutes and put the eyes on - but don't bake too long or the eyes will melt. Refer to the photo showing this.

Juicy Roasted Chicken

AWESOME - incredibly easy, and incredibly good. My bird was a little larger, and took 1 hr 45 min to cook, be sure to monitor with an internal thermometer. Our 15 year old son said it's the best he's ever had - and he loves chicken - our 7 year old ate it up even though she's not a meat eater - and my husband said it was amazing. Can't recommend highly enough. Followed recipe exactly.

WORTH TEN STARS - DECLARED BEST RECIPE EVER BY MY TEENAGE SON. He has made me vow to never again fix the canned stuff, it's just simple strightforward but awesomely good. I also added one stalk of chopped celery.

Judy's Strawberry Pretzel Salad

One of our favorite deserts since trying it. My sister decided it also works for breakfast since it has dairy in it (cream cheese) and fruit (strawberries). We also tried a variation with cranberry jellow and cranberry sauce, it was good for Thanksgiving but not AS GOOD as the original. Use brand name pretzels they are worth the added cost and flavor for the recipe - the sweet salty combination really comes alive.

Gourmet Chicken Pizza

VERY GOOD if you like ranch. My daughter and I really enjoyed this pizza for the flavor, and it's quick and easy to prepare. My husband and son, however, don't like ranch so of course they didn't care for it. But if you like ranch, it's a keeper!
