The Bird is the Word

Many may be too old to catch the reference to a 60's song, which does include the obligatory, "pa, pa, pa,ooo, mau, mau" lyrics. But to me, this song carries the sentiment of honoring the fact that "everybody knows about the bird, yeah, everybody knows
that the bird is the word!"
The love for my family is so overwhelming. Especially in November. I was so looking forward to the meal which I would NOT be making this year, as my husband's 'clan' always has the starving hordes out to their vineyard and lovely house. They supply the wine,
turkey, many app's, and everyone else is assigned side dishes.
In addition, this year I made my homemade cheese (chipotle and garlic flavored this time) spicy crackers (adapted from the allrecipes Alabama Firecrackers - again with chipotle) Cranberry Sauce Extraordinaire (AR) which I served 2 ways, on cream cheese with
crackers as an appetizer and also as prepared in the recipe. I made Slow Cooker Apple Butter (AR) and Pumpkin Gingerbread (AR) in mini loaves so that each family group would be able to take some bread and apple butter home for later. Also included the Gourmet
Sweet Potato Classic (AR). And, since our hosts do not serve stuffing (???) I made the highest-rated recipe on allrecipes, Awesome Sausage, Apple, and Cranberry stuffing.
Beautiful house. Wonderful family and friends. Gorgeous view. Amazing food. Wine.
Pa, Pa, Pa, Pa, Pa, Pa, Pa...........OOOOH!
