Norwegian Pancakes - Pannekaken

Reviewed: Feb. 26, 2010
These were pretty good. They cooked and flipped like a dream. My boyfriend and I made them with eggs and bacon on the side and also put cheese on them. Our only complaint is that they were a bit too "eggy" tasting,

Rick's Special Buttercream Frosting

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
This is by far the best buttercream recipes I've ever made, or eaten!! Its not too sweet like most buttercreams, and it doesn't hurt your teeth. I used half butter, half shortening, it turned out so creamy!!

Scottish Shortbread IV

Reviewed: Aug. 11, 2009
These were really good, I think they would be better around the holidays though! They were just what we needed to cure our sweet tooth, and perfect for the ingredients we had in the house, no eggs, no chocolate chips, no cocoa. I only left mine in for about 15 minutes, and I didn't add any vanilla or salt, just follwed recipe exactly. How do you cut the rectangles so straight?! Do you cut them or use a cookie cutter? We had no rectangle cookie cutter, so we cut them with a knife, and they were so wobbley :S I can't wait to make these for Christmas!!!!

Basic Flaky Pie Crust

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2008
this tasted really good. though i did have quite a lot of problems with it. i put the dough in the freezer like it said and followed to the recipe exactly but it was really hard to roll it out! i put flour on the counter and the roller and the dough, but it just wouldn't stop sticking to the counter and breaking when i tried to lift it. i tried moving it around as i was rolling to keep it from sticking but it did anyway. after a while i just rolled pieces out and then pieced them into the pie pan. it was my first pie and i am not going to give up on making them!!

Old Fashioned Strawberry Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 25, 2008
this was so yummy! i substituted 1/3 cup of flour for 1/3 cup of cornstarch, i used only a pinch of cinnamon and i squeezed some fresh lemon juice into it. i also made one with splenda because my grandpa has diabetes. they were both so good and set perfectly! thank you!

Old Settlers' Baked Beans

Reviewed: May 7, 2008
this is such a good recipe!! They didn't have great northern beans at pricemart, so instead, i got 2 cans of kidney beans and 2 cans of pork and beans, i'm sure it would have been even better if i had the great northern beans instead! I made bannock with it too, sooo yummy!
