Wiener Wraps

Reviewed: May 21, 2012
This worked out well after discovering all the hotdog buns I bought weren't edible anymore... I'll never buy buns again though. These were delish and easy. Had no whole wheat flour (used all purpose), scaled down on the sugar (you really don't need that much at all), and didn't add any cheese or ketchup.

Beef Brisket on Buns

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2011
Definitely tender. And definitely flavorful! Had no ground mustard so I used onion powder; and I just estimated all of the measurements. To the liquid mixture, I added a can of beef broth. The liquid smoke is a great addition: use it if you can. It was a lot of liquid esp once I added the broth, but that didn't matter and it did cover all the meat. Where the recipe says to foil line a dish: absolutely do it and do it thoroughly. It gets super messy in there and it's hard to clean.

Banana Flavored Jam

Reviewed: Jul. 22, 2011
Yay! I looked all over the internets for a recipe like this! I wanted to find a yummy banana spread (for toast) that didn't involve another fruit - just bananas. I just wasn't sure what all could go into it (I lack creative juice when it comes to food) until I found this recipe. Now, I didn't follow it *exactly* because I just guestimated the amounts of each ingredient as I wanted to make this with just one banana. If you do all this *to taste* you can get a wonderfully banana-y flavor with a a kick of nutmeg (and cinnamon - I took that advice). I also took the advice to use a very ripe banana. They're half way to mush anyways, and much sweeter. ALSO, what added to the deliciousness was texture: don't blend this up! Hand-mush that fruit and you will get some lovely lumps of banana-y goodness. ALSO, I didn't cook this. Don't know how long it will keep, but I jarred the little extra that I had and stuck it in the fridge... we'll see! Maybe I'll try cooking it up next time.

Mama's Asian Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 26, 2011
This was great!! Some people said it didn't make enough sauce to also eat with their rice, but I thought it was the perfect amount. I do think there is *something* missing, some kind of orange punch that just wasn't there, but it was still delicious and I'm adding it to my list of regular meals. Next time I will add more orange juice and more orange peel and see if that works. Thank you for this recipe!

Honey-Garlic Glazed Meatballs

I liked these! I had to get over the smell of soy sauce, which I don't like, and just taste it. I was not disappointed!

Irish Pumpkin Potage

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2011
Wow! I didn't think onions and pumpkin would compliment each other so well. I did so many things wrong to this recipe and it still came out SO delicious. Accidentally applied too much heat too soon when adding the milk... I have no cayenne pepper (which is probably a good thing - I don't like spicy food)... and I added too much nutmeg so that taste was a little over whelming. I absolutely recommend this recipe (I've already emailed it to friends and family). I do not think it was too much work. One thing I suggest is to add the spices to *your own* liking. I made cornbread to go along with this meal - so good!

Easy Sugar Cookies

Delish! My husband made them once and they were perfect. Then I made them and made this mistake: I rolled them into compact balls before putting them in the oven. That was stupid. The bottoms burned and they didn't spread outwards. Just wanted to let everyone know not to do what I did!

We looooove these guys! We cook up some corned beef (with onions and green peppers) and eat these two recipes together. Break apart the dumpling and scoops some meat in. YUM!
