Braised Balsamic Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2013
It was two to one in my house tonight. Two seemed to like it and I was the one who didn't like it at all. The flavors didn't' seem to mesh. I love balsamic vinegar but this dish didn't do it for me.

Melt-In-Your-Mouth Meat Loaf

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2012
I think this was the best meat-loaf I've ever made and even though I made one big change it still came out wonderfully. I doubled the recipe which meant it was never going to fit in my crock pot, so I put it in a glass baking dish, covered it with foil and baked it in a 350 degree oven for two hours. After that I added the sauce on top and baked it for an additional 30 minutes and it was so juicy, so moist, so yummy. I will definitely make this again.

Skillet Pork Chops with Potatoes and Onion

Reviewed: Aug. 22, 2012
The whole time I was making this I just didn't have much faith that it would turn out to be anything great. I'm so glad I was wrong. This is surprisingly good and so simple. After the first bite my father-in-law announced that this was definitely a keeper. I did have one issue - I made six pork chops but my pan wasn't big enough for the six chops and all of the potatoes and onions. So I cooked the pork chops with everything layered on top, and then about 3/4 of the way through I switched everything and put the pork chops on top and the potatoes and onions on the bottom so they would cook better. Yummy.

Chicken and Bacon Shish Kabobs

Reviewed: May 29, 2012
I've never loved making Shish Kabobs, but when you get results like this it's well worth it - these were terrific. I had some left over but I had tripled the recipe and I'm glad I did. I put the left over meat and veggies in a pan with some of the sauce and cooked it until all was done. Now I have lunch for several days this week. Will definitely use this recipe again. Note: I followed this recipe exactly and would not change a thing. Loved it!

I followed the recipe exactly and it was excellent. I even received raves from my husband and father-in-law, who both requested that I make it again tonight!

Old-Fashioned Swiss Steak

Reviewed: Mar. 25, 2011
Very disappointing. The meat was almost tender but tasteless and the sauce was just okay. I will not make this again - at my family's request.

Excellent. I didn't have to add extra water at the end - but I did add carrots and potatoes and my family loved it. Thank you!

Butter Roast Chicken

Reviewed: Oct. 24, 2010
I wish I could say I loved this, but I can't. The only thing I can say about the chicken is that it was tender, but it would have been tender anyway. Very disappointed.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2010
Excellent - I did make one change that didn't work out. I didn't have chocolate or peanut butter chips, but I did have little peanut butter cups. I chopped them and added them to the batter but they sunk to the bottom and when getting the cake out of the bundt pan, some of the top stuck (my own fault). But the flavor and consistency of the cake was wonderful. A big hit! I'll definitely make this one again.

Excellent - I followed the recipe to the letter and it's wonderful. It is a little thinner than I expected, but that's okay.

Boilermaker Tailgate Chili

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2010
Let me be #1561 to say WOW, this was awesome. I omitted the beer (didn't have any), and this chili was definitely the best we've ever had. My husband ate three bowls! I served it with sour cream, shredded mild cheddar cheese, and cornbread. Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!

Apple Harvest Pound Cake with Caramel Glaze

Reviewed: Jan. 20, 2008
I, too, am one who has never written a review, until now. This cake is wonderful. I always have awful experiences when trying new recipes (or any recipes for that matter). But this cake is scrumptious. I made it on Saturday and by Sunday it was almost gone. And there were only two people in the house at the time. I was concerned when I made the glaze because it is awfully wet, but I ended up loving it because it gets a little crusty and gives the cake an almost coffe cake texture on top. It is incredible; I will make this cake many times in the future.
