About this Cook
I've been married for 24 years, and have 8 children, 1 girl and SEVEN boys. I am a grandmother to Skylar, a granddaughter, and Michael, a grandson. I work in a hospital as a data processor. I love to cook for my family. I live and 3 1/2 acres and have a huge flower and vegi garden.
My favorite things to cook
At Christmas time I love to bake lots of different cookies and make candies. I love making sweets, like quick breads, desserts and especially cheesecakes. I love trying gourmet recipes, and in general I just love to cook anything!!!
My favorite family cooking traditions
I don't think that we really have any cooking traditions, other than the common family barbeques and the Christmas cookies. Oh, yeah, but one of my sons never lets me forget that I always burn the yams on Thanksgiving. I quess you could call that a family tradition!
My cooking triumphs
I don't really know of any specific triumphs. I always get compliments about my cooking. I just enjoy trying new recipes, and cooking for my family.
My cooking tragedies
One time we invited my sister-in-law and her husband over for dinner. I made steaks. I think I was nineteen, and had never cooked steaks. How hard could it be? It was like, could they be any harder? You couldn't even cut them with a knife. I still don't cook steaks.

Chicken Stuffed Peppers with Enchilada Sauce
These were so delicious. Served to the adults at my sons 11th b-day party. We had left over stuffing (peppers in ID must be little) so I used the stuffing the next day to make chicken enchiladas with flour tortillas. They were the best. Am definitely making again-both ways. YUMMMMMMY!!

Janet's Rich Banana Bread
This is the best banana bread ever. My family devours it!! I took it to work and everyone wanted the recipe. Now, this is the recipe they all use. I only made a few minor changes, by creaming the butter with the sugar, instead of melting it. I mashed the bananas to incorporate them more into my bread. Thanks for the great recipe!!

Banana Sour Cream Bread
I didn't read any of the reviews before making this recipe. Big mistake on my part. I baked as it said and my loaves were runny in the middle-totally raw. I thought that the 300 degree oven seemed too low. I even returned them to the oven and tried to cook them longer, but it was like they were never going to get done. I was afraid that the outsides and the bottom would burn. I was really dissappointed. I will try to make it again, only because I think with all the changes that are suggested in some of the reviews that it will be really good.
