Amazing Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Bars

Reviewed: Aug. 9, 2013
Sorry, but i really count on reviews when i look at recipes here and they're usually right on. This recipe was a real flop for me, though i followed the directions carefully. The bars were so gooey and just not cooked through. I actually put them back in the oven for 15 mins. and they were still gooey!

Cinnamon Rolls III

Reviewed: Jun. 16, 2012
These are the best I've tried yet! Made them recently just for fun for the family and they devoured them! My hubby especially went nuts over them - so I'm making them for Father's Day breakfast! Thanks!

Whole Wheat, Oatmeal, and Banana Pancakes

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
These were really good! Great for me because I need low sodium. I cut the salt in half and they were still very tasty. Had a little batter left over (they were very hearty!) and it was still good the next day. We'll do these again.

Beef Tips

Reviewed: Dec. 9, 2009
I just tried this today, and benefited from comments of several others. Thanks! I added 2 garlic cloves (pressed) to the onion to brown, and used only 1/2 and onion. I actually used sirloin steak and cut it into bite sized pieces. I tossed the in flour before browning. After browning I added the 2 c. water, plus 1/4 red wine. Used only 2 Tbs. each of Worchestershire and low sodium soy sauce and 1/2 Tbs. of brown gravy powder. After it all simmered awhile I added 1 c. of beef broth and sprinkled a little pepper in it. I only simmered it for an hour all together. It was extremely tender, not salty, very flavorful and we all loved it! This [altered] recipe will be a keeper!

Chewy Brownies

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2009
I usually don't do reviews because almost all the stuff I try on here is sooo good, but something sure happened with this one! I did the couple of suggested changes (decreased sugar to 1 c. white and 1/2 c. brown, used 1/2 c. cocoa and still used 4 eggs. IT was the worst flop I've had in years. Baked it for 30 mins. and it was almost burnt on the top but underneath it was gooey. It tasted like chocolate flavored egg bake. I scraped it all out and dumped it. I'm so glad it turned out well for the rest of you. Maybe I shouldn't have made any changes. Anyway, I just went out and bought box mixes, because I needed 3 pans.

Cranberry Wheat Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2008
This is a great recipe! I actually ended up adding two more cups of bread flour because the dough was so sticky. Doubled the spices as suggested, but omitted the cloves (personal taste). It sounded so good I doubled the recipe. I don't have a bread machine, but used my Kitchen Aid mixer with dough hook. I then divided it into 4 small (half-size) pans and baked them for 35 mins. at 350. The house smelled wonderful and the family loved it. We also discovered that it tastes great with a little leftover cream cheese frosting spread on it when warm. I'll be making this again.
