Ham Cake-ettes

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2014
This was a VERY good recipe! Great way to use the leftover ham and mashed potatoes from Christmas. Didn't have green onions, so used a finely chopped yellow onion that I didn't even cook first! Big hit at our house!

Fluffy Pancakes

Reviewed: May 19, 2011
Delicious! They were pretty thick, so I had to lower temperature and cook longer to cook all the way through. For me, this recipe made 8 palm-sized thick pancakes. Tried them with and without blueberries- great both ways!

Honey Balsamic Vinaigrette

This is the best dressing I've ever tasted! Our blender is broken, so I skipped that part and it was still 5 stars!

Pumpkin Spice Latte

I made exactly as directed and found it to be good. Just don't expect it to be Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte, cause it's different.

Peach Cobbler Dump Cake I

Reviewed: Sep. 24, 2010
I have made this recipe many times and it's terrific! As many others have said, the butter needs to be distributed evenly over the top or there will be dry spots. I add about 1/4 cup extra butter to make sure it's all covered. NOTE: I do not drain 1/2 the syrup as others have suggested. I prepare it the night before and let all the ingredients meld in the fridge overnight, then bake the next day. I like the results better!

Irresistible Whole Wheat Challah

Reviewed: Sep. 23, 2010
This is a delicious recipe! I've made it twice now and noticed a big difference in rising/texture when I let it rise in a warm place, as instructed. The warmth really helps make it light and airy. I'm new to making my own bread and even mine came out great! Thanks!

Ham and Veggie Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2009
Wanted to make this recipe even more figure friendly, so substituted chicken for ham and used reduced fat cheese (cheddar instead of mozzerella). Also opted for low fat cottage cheese. Really filling and tasty, not to metnion guilt-free! Thanks!

Lentil Soup III

Reviewed: Feb. 12, 2009
Good soup- perfect for a chilly evening. I did not have tomato paste so I used 1 can of diced tomatoes and it worked out great! I also added some crushed red pepper since I like things spicy. Thanks for a yummy recipe!

Orange Buttermilk Salad

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2009
I really liked this jello salad! I had something just like it growing up at family functions and now I know how to make it myself. It was really good with sugar-fre strawberry jello and low-fat buttermilk. Yum!

Best Ever Banana Bread

Reviewed: Jan. 1, 2009
This was definitely good. I think that I used bananas that weren't quite ripe enough since it didn't have enough of a banana taste for me. Also, I had to cut down the cooking time to more like 1 hour and 5 min. Still, bread was really good.

Water Chestnut Wraparounds

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2008
Really good but not as sweet as I would have liked. Next time I will take the advice of another reviewer and roll in brown sugar before wrapping. Also, these were very salty. Will use low-sodium soy sauce next time. Definitely line the baking pan with foil! Really helped with clean up.

These were pretty good. Mine came out a little dry. I expected there to be more sauce on them. Good flavor, though.

Chocolate Orange Truffles

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2008
I am new at candy making, but found this pretty easy (yes, it's messy, but any time you work with melted chocolate, it's bound to be!) Chilling well between steps definitely helps. I followed the recipe EXACTLY and got DELICIOUS results. Brought these to a Holiday Cookie Exchange and got raves! (Quadrupled recipe) Topping with extra grated orange peel added an elegant touch!

Buttermilk Pancakes II

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2008
I did what one reviewer suggested and let the milks and egg sit out to bring to room temp. Boy were my pancakes thick and fluffy! Because they were so thick, I had to cook on a lower temp. More like Med than med High. ef. be careful not to overmix. I tried with blueberries, but with the buttermilk flavor, like it better without. This will be my go-to recipe!

These cookies were very good. I like how they are crisp on the edges and soft in the middle. I've had better, but these are definitely going to be in my recipe box.
