Down Home Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Sep. 9, 2005
Comfort food at its finest! The recipe was very easy and much appreciated by the folks at work and my family. May need a little more spice, but other than that it was great. I made it ahead by covering it and putting it in the fridge overnight and then baking it the next morning, so it can definately be a make ahead meal.

Broccoli Cheese Soup III

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2003
This was a super easy, really good recipe. I did add more cheese than the recipe called for, but only because we LOVE cheese! I will definately be making this recipe again. Especially when broccoli is on sale!

Darra's Famous Tuna Waldorf Salad Sandwich Filling

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2003
This was okay, but not as good as I expected it to be. The kids and hubby would have rather had a good old tuna melt! Lots of chopping.

Quick and Easy Clam Chowder

Reviewed: Oct. 28, 2002
This is by far one of my favorite crockpot recipes. It is so easy, and absolutely delicious! The fat content is really high, but sometimes you just have to live a little!!

Asian Coleslaw

Reviewed: Jun. 19, 2002
After making this recipe and absolutely loving it, I now find myself craving it! I followed some of the suggestions of other reviewers and used brocalli slaw and regular bagged slaw, and fried some wonton strips for a topping. It is a definate keeper for my salad recipe collection. Everyone that has tried it has loved it.

BBQ Chicken the Old Bay® Way

Reviewed: Oct. 1, 2001
While cooking the sauce it reminded me of the flavor of cocktail sauce and I was a little leerie. Once we got it on the chicken it was a different story, and everyone loved it. I snuck down for leftovers in the middle of the night! We will definately make this one again....

Hot and Sour Slaw

Reviewed: Aug. 28, 2001
This was a wonderful, light salad for a hot summer day. It went well with barbecued Halibut. The left-overs went to work with me and received rave revues.

Connie's Zucchini "Crab" Cakes

Reviewed: Aug. 10, 2001
This is a wonderful recipe and a great way to use my garden zucchini. No one can tell they are not the real thing! Even fooled my teenage daughter who "hates" zucchini!! I modified it a bit by blending in some of the ingredients in another recipe I love from Martha Stewart. I added minced jalapeno pepper, dijon mustard, and cilantro. Then made a chili-lime aoli for dipping. I'll be making them again this weekend for a barbecue we have been invited to.

This was a wonderful, easy to make and very versatile comfort food. I can see throwing in some veggies, and changing the cheese to swiss. This recipe is a wonderful springboard to lots of great dinners!
