Jalapeno Popper Spread

Reviewed: Feb. 3, 2008
oh yeah! this was great! I found it when looking for ways to use the never-ending supply of hot peppers that my husband grows. I used a combination of fresh, blanched jalapenos and serrenos (about eight.) and I used half mayo and half sour cream and serve it with Scoops. like most reviewers I enjoy the accolades when i bring it to parties.thanks for the excellant recipe!

No-Cream Pasta Primavera

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2008
wow! what a lovely way to celebrate spring's return. this was delicious and made my veggie hungry husband purr! my only change was to added mushrooms (cooked with onions) and artichoke hearts (roasted with other veggies) to the basic recipe. we will be enjoying these wonderful fresh flavors often!

Absolute Best Liver and Onions

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2008
my husband loves liver and brought several for our freezer when he picked up our side of beef ( many people don't like it and leave it behind at the farm) horrified at the prospect of both taste and smell , I looked up two recipes on the site and encouraged him to use them while i was out of town. he choose this one and absolutly loved it! my son who was not a liver fan enjoyed it also. They plan to make it again. Perhaps one day when i'm feeling brave i'll try it too!

Asian Lettuce Wraps

Reviewed: Apr. 7, 2008
aww, I was so disapointed with the flavor of the dish. I'm not sure why, but it tasted too sweet and cloying. The flavors did not blend the way I envisioned when I read the recipe and reviews. sorry.

Chili-Lime Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: May 10, 2008
Hooray! I found something for my fussy carnivoir son-in-law. he likes savory meats without the confusion of veggies, which is crazy considering that he married my vegitarian daughter, and this meal hit all his buttons! the kabobs were tangy, juicy, and got me some serious kudos from Dan the Man! I served these with taboolie and garlic green beans.

Chicken Thigh Fricassee with Mushrooms and Rosemary

Reviewed: Jun. 12, 2008
Wow! I made this today for my husband and my mother. I marinated the bone in skinless chicken with the rosemary, garlic, mixed dried hot pepper flakes (from our garden) and 1\4 cup wine for two hours before browning it, but otherwise followed the recipe exactly. The flavor was excellent, the meat very tender and not greasy. I served this with a small Pepperidge Farms frozen sourdough loaf, asparigus and a taboolie salad. ( I thought the mirroring of the olives and tomatos pulled the meal together)We also enjoyed the remander of the bottle of pinot grigio I used in the recipe. My family and I highly recomend this meal and the house smelled wonderful too!

Firecracker Grilled Alaska Salmon

Reviewed: Jul. 20, 2008
happy day! this is the perfect recipe for a summer grilled meal! I just served this up to my husband and son to rave reviews. i marinated the fish for 24 hours and grilled in foil in the gas grill on low. we had fresh (15 min. out of the garden) green beans and sauted summer squash. wow! a glass of sauvingon blanc rounds out all those flavors and makes for a joyful dinner. thanks for a great keeper!

Vietnamese Fresh Spring Rolls

Reviewed: May 7, 2010
I made these for a family get together this week and wow, were they a hit! Delightfully fresh tasting and after a short learning curve with the wrappers ( They worked best when I just dipped them quickly in water and wrapped very quickly too), very easy to make. It is very imporant to have all your fillers ready before you wrap. (I used shrimp, noodles, cucumber, spicy bean sprouts, mint and cilantro) My only problem was that the finished wraps were slighty sticky so I served them on a large platter on a bed of lettuce leaves so they wouldn't stick together and my guests could pick up a lettuce leaf with the wrap if they didn't like the tactile stickiness. I used a ginger teriaki dipping sauce. The presentation was beautiful with the pink shrimp and the bright green mint leaves glowing through the translucent wrappers. Thanks Paula!

Venison tenderloin appitizer

Reviewed: May 9, 2010
made this with the narrow ends of two beef tendrerloins for Mother's day and wow! did they go! Had to beat the kids away from the grill so that we'd have some left for the guests! I added some fresh minced rosemary to the marinade and grilled it on 350-400 grill.

Vietnamese Spring Rolls

Reviewed: Jun. 2, 2010
Made these last month and they were beautiful and delish! I added cucumber and spicy bean sprouts to the original recipe. Definate learning curve on using the rice wrappers, dip wraps for a second and roll quickly on a towel! The texture of the finished rolls was a little sticky so I served with and on lettuce leaves for easier handling.
