Classic Pear Crisp

Reviewed: Sep. 8, 2008
Yum! Really versatile too... I had only a 9" round cake plate and a 1 1/2 qt casserole dish... didn't have any ginger.. and I added extra cinnamon and just a little bit of ground cloves. I cut up a few extra pears and made double the crumb topping... it worked well and was VERY yummy.

Apple Toast

Used cinnamon sugar and toasted both sides. Toast one side then flip and put on the apple slices and toast the 2nd side. Yum!

Skillet Pizza

Reviewed: Sep. 14, 2010
I've been making tortilla pizzas like this for forever. Any ingredients you want, just like normal pizzas. For no oil put the tortilla in the oven and broil it on one side. Then take out, flip over, add toppings and put under the broiler again until cheese is melted or brown, your preference. :)

Tiger Cookies

I'm gonna do a big no-no and rate it after I changed the recipe. I used corn flakes instead of the sugar frosted cereal and m&ms and just stirred them in instead of melting chocolate. SUPER good! Good enough that you can change them up and they're still good! :) Sorry for peeving people. Change isn't always bad.

Broccoli Cheese Soup V

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2010
Used fresh broccoli and less broth and 1 lb of cheddar cheese, no velveeta. The trick is to add the cheese to the milk mixture after it is thick and melt it there. Then it will not get stringy like if you try to melt it directly in the soup. Very good and definitely a keeper. My 1 1/2 yr old who hates broccoli ate it up and complimented it highly. MMMMM!!!

Not Your Average Grilled Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 3, 2010
5 stars for the concept. We don't like the dill weed and sour cream... so we spice it differently. And it takes about an hour and a half to do a 5 lb chicken. Then we have leftovers. Yum!

Tarragon-Turkey Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 3, 2009
SOOOO good! My 1 yr old, 5 yr old, and husband loved it. I used leftover turkey meat from thanksgiving meal and turkey broth I'd made from the turkey carcass. Also I used cooked brown rice instead of barley. It tasted a little off in the end and it took a while to figure out what was missing... garlic powder made it PERFECT so next time I'll do crushed garlic with the onions and green peppers. Amazing! So good and so good for you!

Baked Macaroni and Cheese

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2010
This was good but turned out like little melted cheese curds that did not stick to the macaroni at all. So the texture was not that great. I had added extra butter and cheese like reviews said but if I make it again I will not do extra butter (it was a little too greasy and maybe that made the cheese slide around), will use large macaroni noodles, and melt the cheese with the milk mixture before adding to the mac.

Plum Clafouti

Reviewed: Aug. 16, 2012
Added a bit of extra sugar because I was worried about our super tart plums and left out the grated lemon peel because I didn't have it. Shouldn't have added the extra suger. Next time I will make it just as the recipe says... and I will be making it another time. Everyone loved it!

Changed it up some for our taste. Just a couple spoonfuls of salsa for less heat and made up for flavor with chili powder and cumin.

Whipped Cream Cream Cheese Frosting

Reviewed: Mar. 2, 2012
Super rich. Probably would have been great spread thinly on a carrot cake but was way to rich (not light and sweet like I was hoping) to put on cupcakes. It tasted like butter too much. Had to add extra sugar and still wasn't right :(

Not sure why but the crust was chewy... crunchy. Good... but not exactly right. Maybe I'll try it again and see what happens...
