Someone said on one of the boards that they had to give up food for gas to get to work.  Considering it was on a board about losing weight, I wasn't too worried.  The bad part is shortly we may not have to worry about giving up food to buy gas because you won't be able to afford the… MORE

About this Cook
Well... I don't really live in Yellow Knife. You need more options under hobbies and interests or let us pick them. You know, like, body building, jeep fixing, Jeeps, car collecting, Zippo lighter collecting, Football [playing NOT watching], Soccer, and other goodies that someone might do ahem.. Like me.
My favorite things to cook
Food? It beats car bumpers.
My favorite family cooking traditions
3 bottles of ketchup for spaghetti or Chili or meatloaf .. That my mother's own recipe. And I ain't joking. I honestly learned to cook in self defense.
My cooking triumphs
??? I didn't burn the water? The big one? I cooked Thanksgiving dinner for my Mother one year she had to work on Thanksgiving morning. I was 11 years old. The only thing frozen in that was dessert. Roast Chicken, mash potatoes [from scratch], another veggie, tomato soup starter and of course thawed and baked dessert which was pumpkin pie.
My cooking tragedies
If you can eat it, it ain't no tragedy. So far I'm batting 1000

Waffles I
Excellent recipe. I used with syrup and I also reduced the sugar a bit and used for chicken and Waffles. It's a keeper for me.

Butter Dip Breadsticks
This turned out very well. I added grated Parmesan, onion powder, garlic powder and a small bit of Nutritional yeast to the dough. Halved the recipe. They came out perfect. We used Pizza sauce as a dip.

Baked Kale Chips
I didn't put the olive oil or the seasoned salt on it and they turned out wonderful. I didn't spray with anything either. The taste was great. I think if I wanted a bit more, I would use something like Mrs. Dash in different flavors as the mood strikes. And you can't beat 34 calories a cup .5 grams fat 29 mg sodium. And the flavor was much better than a greasy potato chip.
