Baked Spaghetti

Reviewed: May 16, 2014
Definite make-again recipe. Followed the suggestion of whoami and put sauce on top of pasta and again on top of the cottage cheese. My kids loved it. Perfect for a larger gathering - especially involving kids.

Honey Wheat Bread I

Reviewed: Mar. 31, 2014
OH MY... this produced an amazing couple of loaves of bread. Light, crispy outside with a fluffy inside. I used melted butter for the shortening. I doubled the yeast as per a few other reviewers. I needed to add 1/2 cup more flour. I used the dough hook on my mixer and kneaded the bread on level 2 for 10 minutes. I turned the oven to 200 degrees for a few minutes and let the dough rise in the oven with a damp tea towel over top. It took only about 20 minutes for the first rise and 20 minutes for the 2nd rise. Really, really good. Will definitely make this again.

Oatmeal Pancakes II

Reviewed: Mar. 8, 2014
This recipe is four stars IF you reduce the salt. I have never found a pancake salty -- until now. I used whole wheat flour for this recipe and it turned out great -- fluffy and light. I will definitely use this recipe again, but will add only 1/4 of the salt.

Apple, Cranberry, and Pear Crisp

Wonderful recipe. Loved the topping. The nuts (I used pecans) made it especially good. Didn't have a huge pear flavour. Still really, really good.

Watermelon Lemonade

Reviewed: Aug. 13, 2010
I assembled this right before a party. I was horrified at how sickeningly sweet it was. I even cut down the sugar as per other reviews. I added a lemon club soda to it and it saved the day. I think I doubled the liquid with the amount of club soda. It turned out really nice once this was added. I will have to figure out just how much sugar is necessary. ?Maybe on a previous review? As of right now, I would cut the sugar by 2/3rds and see how it went.

Karrie's Yorkshire Pudding

Reviewed: Jan. 6, 2010
This was an easy recipe. I used individual muffin tins. They puffed and browned nicely. However, they were tasteless. They definitely need salt or be smothered in a flavourful gravy. I will try this recipe again sometime, but will experiment with it a bit.

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies I

Nice texture, but way too salty. I would cut the salt in half next time.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: May 27, 2008
I added a bit of cayenne and a bit of pepper as recommended.... nice. Otherwise I made the recipe exactly as written and ended up with a perfect batch. They did not flatten too much, nor were they bland. This is a definite make again recipe.

Chocolate Banana Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 13, 2008
Moist, wonderful cake. I made a two layer round cake and it worked perfectly. Somebody's review said to make the recipe on the cake box and then add the rest of the ingredients from the online recipe -- no, no, no.... only add the ingredients that are listed in the recipe... not the cake box. Served at a birthday party with 35 people and it received rave reviews. Can't go wrong with this one.
