Ultimate Twice Baked Potatoes

Reviewed: May 5, 2005
Now I know where this recipe got it's name. These were fabulous! This was my first time make twice baked potatoes but not my last! There were a couple of things I did different. I cooked them at 425 degrees for 50 minutes. I added a 1/2 tsp of onion salt and a clove of fresh garlic. Like another reviewer, I rubbed them in olive oil and sprinkled them with course Kosher salt. Great flavor. They were a huge hit at my dinner party, even with my 7 year who had seconds! I would definitely recommed these to everyone. They are fabulous. Thanks Debra.

Sugar Cookie Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2004
Fabulous, fabulous, fabulous! I made giant sugar cookies for my son's grade school classmates for Halloween and I used this icing on top. They came out beautifully. When the recipe tells you to cream the shortening and sugar together, it doesn't come together as you would expect it to. I was afraid that the icing wasn't going to come out, but as soon as you add the milk and vanilla it smooths out beautifully. Before the wet ingredients it basically looks like powdered sugar with a few lumps of coated shortening. Don't worry. Everything will work out fine. Thanks for the recipe Kathy! It's a keeper!!

Easy Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Oct. 26, 2004
Great recipe. I am the most impatient cook so not having to cool and roll these out made them fabulous. I made huge cookies for my sons' class, so I only got about 22 cookies out of it. I substituted the butter for shortening since I did not have enough butter. They turned out great. They are not too sweet, just right. I plan to ice them too. All in all this is a fabulous recipe and even though I have my great aunt Rit's recipe for killer sugar cookies, these will be the ones I will make when I want to get them done quickly! Save the other one for special occassions. Thanks for the recipes Stephanie.

Fried Apple Pies

Reviewed: May 30, 2004
Scrumptious! Burned my tongue cause I couldn't wait to try them. I used cherry pie filling instead of apple and they came out better than McDonalds just as others said. They are a big hit in my house. Thanks for sharing this recipe Melissa.

Brown Sugar Cookies II

Reviewed: May 2, 2004
I love this cookie recipe. I have made it a few times and it never lasts in my house. It is perfect for me since I cannot eat chocolate. I baked mine for 7-8 minutes and they were perfectly soft...the others that I had baked for the full amount of time were more crunchy and I love my cookies soft. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

Karen's Baked Banana Stuffed French Toast

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2003
These were great. I made them for my husband and father on Father's day. After they came out of the oven I sprinkled them with powdered sugar, drizzled a raspberry sauce and topped them off with real maple syrup. A very tasty treat! The guys raved. Thanks for sharing.

Italian Wedding Cookies III

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2003
I remember having these as a child. I was so happy to find a good recipe. They are very tasty, just as I remember them, and my son loved helping me roll them in the powdered sugar. I will definitely put this in my recipe file so my children can enjoy them often. Thank you for sharing your recipe!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: May 22, 2003
Great flavor, appearance, and overall crowd pleaser. These did not last a full day in my house! I love banana muffin/bread recipes, so when I found this simple recipe I knew I needed to make it. I forgot to put on the struesel topping so 6 minutes before they were done I had to pull them out and sprinkle it on. All was well...but maybe this was the reason I had to cook it an extra 10 minutes. I am not complaining. Thanks for sharing the recipe Lisa!

Light & Tasty Cheesy Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2003
This dish was great with a couple of setbacks. All of my potatoes were not fully cooked after the timer went off, and there was a bit of liquid at the bottom of the dish. I don't know what I did wrong. Overall it was very tasty and my family did enjoy them. Quick (well minus peeling the potatoes!) and very simple. I used a bit more swiss cheese and used colby jack cheese since I didn't have cheddar. Very nice flavor. I will be making this again.

Buttermilk Bread II

Reviewed: Feb. 8, 2003
This bread was fabulous. I have been making bread for a while now and I love to try new recipes. Even though I did not have buttermilk, I substituted it with 1 1/2 cups of milk with 1 1/2 tablespoons of vinegar (let stand for 5 minutes). I was very pleased with the outcome. It was moist and hearty. My family devoured it in less than two days. I was also able to enjoy a slice for toast and it was tasty. I will definitely be making this again and again! Thank you Esther.

Egg-Free Low-Fat Oatmeal Cookies

Reviewed: Aug. 26, 2002
I tried to love this cookie...but I suppose I am used to the more fattening ones. I love using applesauce in my cookies, but I think I need the egg as well :( No offense Lucille. I am sure my boys will love them. They have not been corrupted by the classic oatmeal cookie.

French Herb Bread

This was an amazing bread. As soon as the buzzer went off I brushed it with butter and parsley and in my mouth it went! I promptly ran to my neighbors and gave her a slice. It is heaven!
