About this Cook
I am the very proud wife and mother to my husband and 4 beautiful children. 2 boys and 2 girls that range in age from 11 to 2. Being in the kitchen is my escape. I absolutly love it. I started bringing my kids in the kitchen with me as a way to still spend some "quality time" with them but at the same time they are learning so much AND we're getting supper done. It's so much fun....a little messy sometimes, but fun. I love to read but don't really have time to get into a book right now, and I love the food network channel and lifetime movies. I try to be a very positive person so that I can be a positive influence for my family, and I stay very strong in my faith because when it comes down to it, everything is based on faith.
My favorite things to cook
Desserts are so much fun to cook because you can make them look so pretty. Pasta dishes, gumbos and soups, casseroles, and anything in a slow cooker are definetly on my list of favorites. I've just recently taken an interest in a few asian style dishes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Growing up I can remember my mom in the kitchen alot and I would get to help her cook or bake alot of the time, but there was never really a tradition so to speak. Since I have brought my own children into the kitchen with me I will definetly be starting some traditions of my own and hopefully they will continue them on with their children.
My cooking triumphs
I just recently made my very first pumpkin roll!!! It came out beautiful..and it was so easy.
My cooking tragedies
This is HILARIOUS!!!! For the longest time I could not make a grilled cheese sandwich. I would burn it every time. It's always the absolute simplest things that get me. LOL

Tomato Gorgonzola Soup
I adjusted the servings to 10 and made this for a teachers luncheon for PTA at my daughters school. The PTA president told me there was a little conflict on who got the last bowl. Don't be afrad to try this if youre not reall fond of gorganzola or blue cheese. i hate both, but this is oneof my favorite soups. the cheese just gives it a creaminess that is sooooo good! LOVE THIS!!!

Cabbage Fat-Burning Soup
Very good. I took the advice of another viewer and cut back on the cabbage, otherwise it will overpower your soup and just be too much. But this is delicious. I simmered my quite a while too, like a couple of hours on lo. i like my veggies nice and tender.
