Chicken-Fried Chops

Reviewed: Dec. 21, 2009
My husband really enjoyed this dish. After I browned the chops I sauted garlic, onions and mushrooms and added in the crockpot with the chops. I used organic cream of mushrooms instead of chicken soup.

These cookies are delicious! I reduced the sugar to 1 cup and added some Christmas sprinkles before baking them. The kids had fun helping out!

Peppy's Pita Bread

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
Wow, this was so easy to make and it tastes so much better than the ones from the grocery store. Next time I want to try to make it with a blend of whole wheat flour and regular flour.

Lemony Caesar Salad

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
This salad was surprisingly great!!! I would say is a lighter version of the Caesar salad, but still with lots of flavor. I omitted the onion (just a preference) and used homemade croutons.

This is a great recipe! Kids and husband really enjoyed it! I omitted the green pepper and added lots of fresh basil. It freezes really well. Thanks Hank's Mom!

Kona Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 20, 2009
This dish was ok. I used reduced sodium soy sauce and even though it was very salty. It's very easy and quick for busy days, I may try again with some changes.

Chicken Breasts in Caper Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
This is a really great dish! Just as suggested I doubled the sauce. After the chicken was cooked I sauted 3 cloves of garlic and added 1/4 cup of white wine to deglaze the pan, then added skin milk instead of whipping cream (sorry no offense, but I refuse to add so much fat) and a little bit of cornstarch. I rinsed the capers well before adding to the pan to reduce sodium. Served over whole wheat spaghetti, even the kids asked for seconds. Thanks!

Jam Filled Butter Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
These cookies were good, but I agree with another reviewer that the cookie (without the preserve) is a little bland. I wish I had read her review before baking them she says that some salt and vanilla extract and they turned great. I will add these next time. As suggested, I use a sandwich bag to add the preserve.

Very good cookie! It needs to be baked a little longer, 11-13 minutes. I will use less sugar next time, just a preference.

Mexican Layered Dip

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2009
This was absolutely delicious! I mixed the refried beans with homemade taco seasoning and I added taco seasoning to the sour cream as well. I made my own guacamole because I don't like those from the store. I will definitely make this again, thanks for the recipe!

Slow-Cooked Oriental Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2009
Great recipe, so easy and simple, it turned out delicious. I used boneless/skinless chicken breast and browned before adding to the cockpot, then I sauted the garlic (which I trippled the amount) and all the other ingredients, including 8 oz. of tomato sauce for extra sauce.

BBQ Glazed Homemade Meatballs

Reviewed: Dec. 12, 2009
Fantastic! I don't eat red meat, I made this as an appetizer for my son's birthday party, it was a big hit! Everyone loved these meatballs! As suggested by Tat2, I made a few changes: I added a little worceshire sauce to the meat, reduced the sugar to 1/3 cup, halved the amount of liquid smoke and added cruched Ritz crackers instead of oatmeal. I used a cookie scoop, so they all turned out the same size and nice presentation. It was gone quite fast, I didn't even have a chance to take a picture.

Tropical Coffee Cake

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2009
This was a really great coffee cake! Very nice and moist, and pretty easy to make. As suggested I covered the cake with foil for the last 15 minutes. Next time I will reduce the sugat by half, it was a little too sweet for my taste.

I made these for a Cookie Swap at my son's school. I love pecan, but I didn't find these cookies that great.
