Baked French Toast

Reviewed: Jan. 22, 2012
I made this last night for today's breakfast. Didn't have enough apples but made it anyway. Super easy to make and a great way to use up my hardening french bread. This morning I was just too lazy to make the sauce so I just added maple syrup on top and it was still great! I will be making this again. I am sure if I made this for more than myself, I would be adding the syrup as it sounds divine. Thanks!

Honeyed Ham Glaze

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2011
Made this recipe for a yummy 8lbs ham I got from the butcher. I made the glaze but barely used it. My husband and I thought it was a bit too mustardy. I brushed some on a few slices and I ate them but my husband had his plain. The recipe wasn't bad, but we probably wouldn't make it again.

Low Sugar Strawberry Rhubarb Crunch

Reviewed: Jun. 5, 2011
Made this tonight following some of the recommendations from others. I added the corn starch which really helped thicken things up. I also added more honey but to be honest, I wish I just stayed with what the recipe said. I like the somewhat bitter taste of rhubarb. This is very good though. I will definitely be making this again! Thanks!

Biscotti

Reviewed: May 26, 2011
This was my first time trying to make Biscotti. Although I love cooking and baking, about half the things I make 'flop.' To my surprise, this recipe worked out perfectly! I used Almond Extract instead of Anise and, at another review suggestion, I pulled mine out of the oven earlier than listed. They turned out very well. And I love how I can now, if I want, personalize these with chocolate etc. Thanks for a great recipe that I will definitely be making again!

Super-Delicious Zuppa Toscana

Reviewed: May 26, 2011
I have made this recipe a few times now. I modify as I need to with what I have. We have a ton of sausage from the butcher so sometimes I cut up sausage links instead of using ground. Sometimes I use cans of broth and other times I use homemade stock. I tend to make my potatoes a bit bigger and when done cooking, I take a potato masher and just lightly mash the whole soup. I also often freeze this soup into individual servings. Made this soup for a soup exchange and it was the first soup to get picked by most everyone there. Thanks!

Creamy Baked Ziti

Reviewed: May 2, 2011
Very good. Followed this recipe exactly. I wonder if the people who think its bland just are using blander sauces. My sauce was Four Cheese by Classico and the only diced tomatoes I had had garlic and basil in it. It was so good! So creamy and cheesy! What an easy recipe with all the ingredients on hand!

Scalloped Potatoes II

Reviewed: May 1, 2011
I chose to do this recipe as I had tons of potatoes and a lot of milk to use up. Not too bad considering how few ingredients it uses. I used garlic salt instead of normal salt otherwise I followed the recipe exactly. I like how it doesn't feel greasy or fatty as other scalloped potatoes taste like. I will definitely be keeping this recipe.

Cream of Sweet Potato Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 6, 2011
This is very good. I made it a bit thicker, mostly because all I had was 32 oz of chicken stock available. It is very good. Things that I did slightly differently was just chicken stock instead of broth, red pepper flakes instead of cayenne pepper, and half-n-half instead of cream. Very good. I'll be adding this to my soup recipe file! Thanks!

Beer Bread I

I made this recipe almost to the T. Just added a tad more sugar and some melted butter on top. Not superly impressed. Sorry.

White Velvet Cutouts

Reviewed: Dec. 19, 2010
This is my 2nd Christmas making these cookies. Love them! We usually eat them plain but I am going to try to dip some of them in chocolate like a previous commenter mentioned. Mine take longer than the 12 minutes (by about 2 minutes) but I also like mine a bit thicker. So tasty! Even my cookie picky husband likes them (he will only eat his mothers cookies....)

Tangy Honey Glazed Ham

Reviewed: Dec. 4, 2010
I made this for my husband and I tonight. I loved it. My husband thought it was okay (hence the 4 stars). I think the reason he didn't like it as much was because we could taste the mustard and he is not a huge mustard fan. We'd probably make it again with less mustard in it. Thanks!

Even with adding extra spices, I still wasn't super impressed with these cookies. They are good, but I probably wont be making these again.

Pineapple Ham and Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2010
Love it! Followed it exactly. Used leftover Easter Ham plus brown rice. Yummo. I made it to freeze into individual servings for work this week. Tastes great and the smell is so wonderful as well. Many people asked what it was since it smelled so good!

Corn Casserole II

Reviewed: Dec. 13, 2009
I've made the recipe over and over. Love it! Only thing I do differently is not add the cheese. Forgot it one time and never noticed the difference. So, I have forevermore left out the cheese. I like to add a dollop of extra sour cream on top when I serve it.
