I am a pediatric nurse who works nights. I live with my husband, cute puppy dog, and 3 cats in our first home which we bought in July 07.
My favorite things to cook
I love looking thru cookbooks and watching Food Network etc, but rarely try out the recipes that I see. Since we bought our new house, I have been breaking out the spatulas and measuring spoons and trying things out more. One thing I have been doing is going thru my grandparents recipes and learning to make them the way they did. Good Norsk dishes such as Rummogrot and other tasty dishes.

Baked French Toast
I made this last night for today's breakfast. Didn't have enough apples but made it anyway. Super easy to make and a great way to use up my hardening french bread. This morning I was just too lazy to make the sauce so I just added maple syrup on top and it was still great! I will be making this again. I am sure if I made this for more than myself, I would be adding the syrup as it sounds divine. Thanks!

Honeyed Ham Glaze
Made this recipe for a yummy 8lbs ham I got from the butcher. I made the glaze but barely used it. My husband and I thought it was a bit too mustardy. I brushed some on a few slices and I ate them but my husband had his plain. The recipe wasn't bad, but we probably wouldn't make it again.
