Buttermilk Oatmeal Muffins

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2010
These were excellent....not too sweet and the best right out of the oven. I grated an apple into the batter to add moistness and tast!

Easy Apple Coleslaw

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2010
This was very good - better the next day. I used a vidalia onion instead of green onion as that is what I had. I also lowered the brown sugar to maybe 1/4 cup and used lot's of Cider Vinegar for a nice twang!

Cream Cheese Pound Cake III

Reviewed: Mar. 29, 2009
This was the best pound cake I've ever eaten! I followed other's recommendations and added 1/4 cup buttermilk, let eggs butter and cream cheese come to room temperature and mixed the sugar in a steady stream as it was mixing. also added about a 1/2 T of lemon extract and started baking in a cold oven. I'm getting ready to make this again as the first batch went so quickly!

Blueberry Sauce

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2009
This was great, I used 1/2 oj 1/2 water and cut the sugar down to 1/2 cup. It came together quickly and I served it over Lemon Cream Cheese French Toast.

Cream of Spinach Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 25, 2009
This was excellent..I doubled it and used fresh spinach. I also sauteed chopped onions, carrots and 2 cloves of garlic in olive oil before adding the chicken broth. Also followed other reviewers and added, thyme, nutmeg, 1/4 cup parm cheese and cayenne pepper. I had alot of half & half to use up so used mostly that instead of milk...not the healthiest I suppose but yummy!

Sauteed Apples

Reviewed: Jan. 30, 2009
This was excellent and simple to make - I threw in a handful of blueberries because I had some on hand and reduced the cornstarch to 1 tsp, added extrac cinn. and a 1/2 tsp of nutmeg as others recommended. We also cut pie crust into triangles sprinkled with cinn & sugar and baked at 400 degrees. We served over vanilla ice cream and decorated with "pie crust cookies"...next time I will use less brown sugar as it was a tad too sweet when combined with the ice cream

Lemon Bundt Cake

Reviewed: Jan. 25, 2009
This was good...but not great. Tasted like a cake mix (which it largely is)...nothing wrong with that...but not much of a "Wow" factor

Four Cheese Macaroni

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
This was very good...after making twice though I don't really think it's neccessary to bake it...just omit the eggs...mix well and serve - we made this to go with smoked brisket - it was the perfect side dish

Burgundy Pork Tenderloin

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
This was incredible and very easy. Next time I might use a little less wine though. I also will not cook the potatos along side the roast, they just soaked up the wine and were not too tasty! I did not think the gravy mixed thickened the sauce enough so I added a couple of table spoons for powdered "demi glaze"...I'll definitely make this again.

This was very good, very moist! Made it the day before as many mentioned. I added about a teaspoon of powdered instant coffee to intensify the flavor

Onions Baked with Rosemary and Cream

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
This was fantastic - and soooo easy. I used some dried thyme instead of rosemary...and when adding the cream I mixed in just a couple of teaspoons (maybe a tad more) of flour just to make sure it thickened! I also sprinkled a small amount of Parmesan cheese on during the last 1/2 hour of baking for added flavor

Chocolate Ganache

Reviewed: Jan. 19, 2009
This was super easy to make - just heated the cream to just before the scalding point then poured it over the chopped chocolate - and kept nuking in 30 second intervals and stirring until I had the consistency I wanted

Cheesy Ham and Hash Brown Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
This turned out better then I thought. I used one bag of hash browns with onions and one bag of south western hash browns just to add some depth of flavor.

Cream Cheese Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
These were easy to make, I added extra almond extract for taste. They were difficult to roll out though...kind of sticky, we had to work in small batches. Also, I added some almond extract to the frosting I made as well

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Reviewed: Jan. 9, 2009
This was super easy to make, I just used a couple of store bought grahm cracker pie crusts to save time. I did not leave it in the oven as suggested as we needed to put a turkey breast in...but the cracking was minimal. I don't like Cheesecake but everyone else said it was fantastic!

Cranberry Orange Loaf

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
This was great. It was very flavorful and easy to make. I omitted the pecans as I don't care for nuts in cake. I also glazed it while warm with some powdered sugar mixed with just a touch of orange juice.

Italian Sausage Soup with Tortellini

Reviewed: Jan. 4, 2009
This was excellent! I'll be making this again. I substituted Ground Turkey with Italian Seasonings (Jennie-O) for the sausage and a 2 cans of diced tomatos with garlic for the fresh tomato.

Ten Clove Garlic Marinade

Reviewed: Aug. 30, 2008
This was excellent! I marinated a sirloin tip roast in this for two days. Then threw it in a crock pot with some onions, potatos and carrots. I inserted garlic cloves into the roast and slathered it with some spicy mustard as well....this made a tasty pot-roast marinade!

Banana Crumb Muffins

Reviewed: May 5, 2008
This was super simple to make. For the crumb topping I just put everythining in a small one-cup food processor, this is a big time saver and it makes the perfect "crumb topping"...I use this method often...just make sure the butter is not too soft or it turns into a big blob!

Manicotti Alla Romana

Reviewed: May 5, 2008
This was awesome...a little involved but worth it. I used jumbo shells instead of Manicotti as that is what I had on hand. I also used Italian Spiced ground turkey instead of ground beef. I will definitely make this again!
