I did not care for this.

Portobello Mushroom Burgers

Reviewed: Jul. 21, 2009
This was a nice change from the standard beef burger, with no guilt added. It was tasty from the marinade and didn't need any additional "sauce" on top. It was great just topped with tomato and red onion. Will definitely be making again

Chicken Breasts with Balsamic Vinegar and Garlic

Reviewed: May 26, 2009
This was good and has 5 star potential. I made this recipe without any alterations. The vinegar was too strong however...and I like balsamic vinegar. Next time I will cut the vinegar by half.

Sherry Apple Pork Chops

Reviewed: May 6, 2009
These were absolutely delicous! I would have given this 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that the stated cook time is WAY too long, despite using extra extra thick chops. I think 40 minutes would have been perfect. I doubled the sugar, cinnamon and butter. The last 10 minutes I added another 1/4 cup of sherry mixed with 2 T cornstarch to thicken the sauce. It was magnificent!

Enchilada Casserole III

Reviewed: May 5, 2009
The addition of refried beans was a nice twist, but this recipe just didn't do it for us. Thanks for the submission.

Black Beans, Corn, and Yellow Rice

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
This was delicious. Based on other reviews, I cooked the rice according to the package directions rather than this recipe's directions. I did everything else the same, except using frozen corn instead of canned (personal preference) and added a little cilantro. It was wonderful alongside Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken from this website. I will definitely make this again, maybe add some cheese and/or tomato too just to mix it up. Thanks for the submission.

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 23, 2009
This was very tasty. I used all the dry ingredients as stated, except I increased the garlic to 1 teaspoon (total), and squeezed in the juice of two limes. Then I marinated the chicken breasts in the lime and spice mixture for the day and threw it on the grill. It was delicious! Thanks for the submission.

Too Much Chocolate Cake

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
This was fantastic. I baked it exactly as the recipe called for, except for using a 12 oz bag of mini chocolate chips instead of regular sized chips based on numerous reviewers recommendations. It was perfect. I topped it with Satiny Chocolate Glaze from this website, which made it that much better! The submitter suggests allowing cake to cool for at least an hour and a half, doing so allows the chips to solidify again. But, this cake is really good warm too if you can't wait. You can alway taste it when it's cool the next day...if there are any leftovers!

Satiny Chocolate Glaze

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2009
This was perfect over "Too much chocolate cake" from this website. I used all the ingredients as stated, but I cooked the glaze in the microwave. Add all ingredients except the vanilla to a glass bowl, cook for 45 seconds (don't worry if not all chips appear melted, they will when you stir it), and stir in the vanilla. Viola. Delicious!

Salsa Chicken Rice Casserole

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2009
I liked this, but my husband did not. I added some black beans and corn to balance it out a bit. Other than that, I followed the recipe. I thought there was too much rice overall for the chicken and sauce ratio. I won't be making this one again, thanks for the submission though.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
I wouldn't say that this is the world's best, but it was good. It was a little sweet, even though I cut the sugar by half. I doubled the sauce, which gave us a good amount for the lasagna as well as some left over, though not too much left over. I will make again with a few adjustments including cutting the sugar even more. Thanks for the submission.

Spanish Rice Bake

Reviewed: Mar. 17, 2009
This was very tasty, but I seemed to have the same problem as a number of other reviewers...the rice was crunchy. I added additional water and cooked an additional 20 minutes, yet some of the rice remained crunchy. The taste overall was good though. I would make it again, but I'll cook the rice separate and serve the hamburger mixture over it. Thanks for the submission.

Garlic Cheese Chicken Rollups

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2009
I wish there were half stars in the rating system...these deserve a 3 1/2 star rating. These were alright, but a little too rich and a little too strong in flavor (and I only used half as much cheese spread as suggested). If I make these again, I will definitely follow other reviewers suggestions and make my own cheese spread.

Pork Tenderloin with Dijon Marsala Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 14, 2009
This was good, but had way too much marsala. I will make it again, but cut the marsala by half and add some mushrooms as suggested by others.

Layered Chicken and Black Bean Enchilada Casserole

Reviewed: Feb. 11, 2009
This was delicious and I will definitely be making it again. Unfortunately, I didn't have black beans on hand so I used dark red kidney beans instead. It turned out wonderful just the same. Next time I might use them along with the black beans. I also added some corn based on others' recommendations. And based on personal preference, I like a lot of gravy, I used about fifty percent more enchillada sauce and sour cream. It was very yummy. My husband (who was making disgusted faces during the entire preparation...at one point even asked if that's the way it is usually made) went back for seconds and thirds. Even my six-year-old daughter loved it and asked for the leftovers for lunch the next day. A definite keeper! Thanks

Shrimp Linguine

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
This was pretty good, but just a little bland for us, perhaps because I left out the oregano (didn't have any). I perked it up with extra sea salt and lots of pepper. Might try a little red pepper flakes next time

Simple Time Pork Chops

Reviewed: Jan. 28, 2009
These were tasty and a nice spin on plain pork chops. I mixed all the butter, mayo and seasoning together before spreading on three very thick. They turned out delicious and moist. For those saying they were too greasy, I wonder if they were using tablespoons of butter and mayo instead of teaspoons. We will definitely be making these again.

Italian Dressing Mix

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
This was really good. I took other reviewers advice and cut the salt down to 1 Tablespoon. For us, it needed just a little more zest, so next time we'll add a dash of red pepper. Thanks so much for the submission...this will be a mainstay in our pantry!

Caramel Shortbread Squares

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2009
This recipe has a great concept of being topped by caramel and chocolate. Unfortunately, the shortbread themselves fell short of expectations and were extremely bland. I might try it again with a different shortbread recipe, most of which require the addition of vanilla and different sugar (brown sugar or confection). Maybe the submitter was concerned with sugar overdose, but I really feel that the shortbread needs more flavor. Thanks for the submission.
