Lentil and Smoked Sausage Soup

Reviewed: Feb. 27, 2012
Yummy recipe. I followed another reviwer's advice and din't saute anything (so didn't need the oil) and threw it all in the slow cooker. I used a smoked turkey sausage, because that's what I had. Thanks for a great and healthy post.

Chicken and Gnocchi Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2012
Yummy soup and a surprise hit with my family. I wasn't sure how they would react to the spinach, but no one commented except to say how good it was!. I made a few adjustments based on what I had at home etc. I found my chicken broth a little lacking in taste, so I added some boullion powder. I also did not have fresh spinach, but I used a package of frozen chopped spinach which worked really well. In the interest of cutting down on fat, I substituted a can of 2% evapoarted milk for the cream and it was still really good (but I bet the cream would be better!). This will definitely be a make again recipe.

Chicken Breasts Pierre

I love this. I usually cube chicken breasts instead of leaving the breasts whole and serve over penne pasta. It isn't your typical tomato sauce, but the whole family enjoys this recipe.

Golden Oven Omelet

Reviewed: Dec. 29, 2011
Great recipe! I made this over Christmas when we had a houseful (served 6 adults and 5 children with one small piece to spare) and everyone really liked it. The texture was so nice and light. I might cut down the salt next time (1 tsp) as I found it a little salty. However, I did add about a cup of old cheddar (grated, asper other reviewers), so that might have added to the saltiness. This will definitely stay in my file as a go-to breakfast when we have a crowd.

Butter Snow Flakes

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2011
Delicious and the dough was easy to work with. Cream cheese comes in 4 and 8 oz packages here, so I used 4 ounces. Also, in my oven, 9 minutes was the perfect cooking time. What shape you choose to spritz might also affect cooking time, so I would suggest checking them at 8 minutes and adding baking time as needed. Thanks for the recipe.

Sweet, Sticky and Spicy Chicken

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2011
Yum, thanks for the post. I added a couple of Tbsp more brown sugar to sauce as I used "naturally brewed" soy sauce which seems to have a stronger taste that I felt needed to be mellowed a bit with the sugar. Before I stir fry chicken, I always dredge it in some cornstarch and let it sit for about 5-10 minutes before cooking. It makes the chicken VERY tender and thickens whatever sauce you add to pan after it has cooked for a few minutes.

Jiffy Ground Pork Skillet Revised

Reviewed: Oct. 18, 2011
This was delicious! I really wasn't expecting to like it so much, but it was really quick and tasty. I aded a clove of minced garlic as other reviewers suggested. I only had large cans of tomatoes (796 ml) and tomatoe sauce (350 ml), but I used all of both cans as I didn't feel like putting away the leftovers. I also grated the zucchini to hide it from my kids. It was a nice change from the usual ground beef and pasta dishes. My kids even had second helpings! It also reheated well for lunch the next day. This will go into the regular rotation.

Vegetable Filo Pie

yummy. I read the reviews and added another egg, about 7 cups of vegetables (broccoli, zuchinni, green onion, carrots) and probablly about 1 cup of feta because I wanted to use up the rest of the container and it was delicious. A definite make again for me. Thanks for posting.
