Soft Breadsticks

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2010
We LOVED these. I did reduce the sugar slightly and I'm glad I did. Instead of the sesame seeds, I also did garlic and parmesan. In the dough I added some dried oregano and garlic powder (NOT salt). Instead of rolling it out and making strips to roll in the butter, I poured half the butter into the bottom of the pan, put the dough on top and spread it out to maybe 1/3 of an inch, poured the rest of the butter on top, sprinkled with seasonings (mixture of garlic powder, oregano, black pepper, and a TINY bit of salt), then sprinkled parmesan cheese on top. I baked at 420 for about 12 minutes and they were perfect! The kids couldn't stop eating them. As I was waiting for the hubby to come home (and then eat his dinner), these sat in the kitchen calling my name!

Delicious Pumpkin Bread

Decreased suger to 2 1/4 c, increased cinnamon, and slightly decreased nutmeg... This was SO good! I can't imagine how sweet it would be with 3 c, but decreased it was wondeful, sweet, but not over-poweringly sweet. Just what I wanted to "toast" for the baby. Thanks so much for this recipe!

Buttery Soft Pretzels

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2010
I can't give it 5 (though I want to!) because I changed it a little. OMG These are SO good! They were gone in less than 5 minutes, the kids and adults all loved them. I used 1 1/2 packets of yeast, 1 1/2 c water, a bit less than 1/2 c sugar, and 2 TBS melted butter in place of the veg oil... Oh and 4 1/2 c flour. They were incredible! I left some plain and the others I sprinkled with a mixture of parmesan cheese, garlic powder, and a tiny bit of black pepper (after brushing on melted butter when they came out of the baking soda bath). If you're thinking about it, YES TRY IT! I had no problems handling the dough and am not sure why others did. I followed another's advice and mixed the sugar, yeast, salt, and water at first. I added the melted butter, stirred, then added the flour.

Baking Powder Biscuits

Reviewed: Nov. 20, 2009
I was looking for a biscuit recipe that called for less milk than my usual recipe... I am so glad I found this one!! I had to change out half the shortening for butter and half the milk (because I just didn't have enough) for water and still these were fantastic! My family is pretty picky about their biscuits and they inhaled these! Thank you for sharing :)

Chocolate Chip Orange Zucchini Bread

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2009
Fantastic recipe! My family loved it! Even my picky eater boys. Only thing I changed was I didn't put in the nuts and I switched the amounts on the cinnamon and nutmeg, I just reversed them so there was 1 tsp cinnamon, simply because I'm not a big nutmeg fan. Thanks so much for this recipe! I will definitely be making it again!

Pam's Bierocks

Reviewed: Jul. 23, 2009
My family loved this! Even my very picky sons! With the leftover dough I made cinnamon rolls. The dough in this recipe is perfect. Also to change it up, make a sloppy joe mixture and use this dough, make it the same way (the meat in the dough)... Your family will LOVE it, I think the kids liked the sloppy joe version even better. If I get a chance I will post a recipe for it that way. Thank you so much Pam! This one is definitely a keeper!

Biscotti Toscani

Reviewed: Dec. 11, 2008
Fantastic! Very versatile recipe. I have made biscotti many times before and (as I am Italian-American) was raised on homemade biscotti; and I must say this was an extremely simple recipe (though biscotti usually is). It was simple to modify, simple to work with. This recipe would be great as is, but I was missing the nuts. I used 3/4 t vanilla extract, 3/4 almond extract, zest of 2 medium oranges, and a little more than a 1/4 c semi-sweet choc chips in place of the nuts. These will be going to my kids' teachers for christmas along with some other cookies. Thanks so much for this recipe!
