I am a stay at home mother of 2 little boys! My oldest is 2 and 8 months, and my youngest is 8 months! I have been married to the love of my life for almost 4 years! My life is great!
My favorite things to cook
The only thing I don't like to cook.. is the food that my family doesn't like! So I usually try to stick with the basics, and familiar stuff! I will experiement with 3 major meats.. beef, chicken, and pork! Fish I usually go off of a recipe, because I am not comfortable enough with fish/seafood! There is nothing better than cooking an amazing recipe for the first time! :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
Well when I make cookies.. my 2 year old son loves to help me! He pulls a chair up to the counter and watches me put all of the ingredients into the mixer. (he helps when it comes to entering the flour mixture!) He gets so excited when all of the ingredients are incorporated.. because then he gets to lick the mixer!!! I am pretty sure that he likes the cookie dough, more than the actual cookies! :)
My cooking triumphs
After I got married, that was the true test of how good of a cook I was>> We both moved from our parents home to our own apartment in the week before we got married! So I started to cook basics, like chicken breasts, and pork chops, and good ol' hamburger helper!!! After we started to get sick of that, I tried my first 'recipe'... Chicken Enchalidas out of the Better Homes Cook book!! Both my husband and I were so impressed with my achievment! At first he didn't like the idea of putting slivered almonds on and in the enchalidas.. but now he won't eat it without them!! Now I feel so much more comfortable going out on a limb with recipes! :)
My cooking tragedies
Ummm.. I don't think that I have any persay 'tragedies'! I have screwed up a few times, but I wouldn't consider them tragedies!
