Hummus III

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2006
Mostly very easy to make. The most tedious part was taking the husks off the beans (as suggested in here). They are not hard to take off but there are so may beans. I took it too a party and every body was loving it. I even had to give the recipe out. Next time I will try adding more flavors to it. I did add cumin to taste as previously suggested and extra garlic.

Creme Brulee French Toast

Reviewed: Jul. 29, 2006
This was good but VERY rich. It was more like a dessert than breakfast and my husband and I couldn't eat very much.

Strawberry Angel Food Dessert

Reviewed: Jul. 19, 2006
Very quick and easy dessert... and very good. I didn't use as much glaze as called for, just enough to cover the strawberries. It would be just as good if you sprinkled the strawberries with sugar and allowed them to sit a little while, instead of glazing them.

Garlic Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2006
I melted chedder cheese and more parmesan on top at the end, which added to the flavor. I also added italian seasoning and extra lemon juice. They came out very lemony with a little more flavor but I wouldn't say they were that great. The cheese really helped.

Banana Banana Bread

Reviewed: Oct. 14, 2005
I used a little less bannanas and it still turned out great. Too many it may come out soggy in the middle. It is great warm with butter on top. I always add a little cinnamon and nutmeg to the recipe.

Jim Kaczmarek's Chili

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2005
Although my husband liked the chili a lot the first night, I found it too sweet. The second day it was even worse. I didn't follow the recipe exactly and maybe that was the problem.

Charbroiled Salmon

Reviewed: Sep. 26, 2005
I did as others suggested and used 1/2 cp soy sauce and 1/2 cup red wine. I also added about 1 TB of chopped garlic. I used it on a salmon filet and covered the grill with aluminum foil. It was wonderful. So flavorful, I was snacking on the cold salmon leftovers.

Anna's Chocolate Chip Cookies

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2005
These are so moist and yummy. My husband eats up one batch and immediately asks me to make another. Very, very good. Didn't change a thing but did try with 1/2 choc chips and 1/2 peanut butter chips. That is good too.

Emily's Famous Sloppy Joes

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2005
I found this very bland after being cooked and I kept adding more to kick up the flavor. I used a can of tomato paste and a can of diced tomatoes. I found the recipe got very dry very fast. It was a good simple meal and tasted much better after it was in a bun, but it wasn't my favorite.

Ground Beef Enchiladas

Reviewed: Jun. 29, 2005
I used Campbell's southwest cheese soup instead of the cream of chicken soup. I substituted sour cream, like another member mentioned, and used a mexican cheese mix. I always use more cheese than called for. Just a tip, you must soak the corn toritillas in warm water or milk before trying to fil and fold them, otherwise they will break up. Pretty good, but different so not my favorite.

Italian Lasagna

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2005
Great recipe, the only one I may use for lasanga from now on. Big problem was the sauce definately didn't yeild enough. I had to add a jar. I also used parmesan cheese and didn't use any fennel, because I didn't have any. It was still excellent. Everyone raved and we ate it as leftovers for the rest of the week.

Amazing Pork Tenderloin in the Slow Cooker

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2005
My family didn't find this too salty and it was super moist. So full of flavor and easy. I will make it again. I substituted the onion soup for a garlic soup mix and added pearl onions.

Carrie's Artichoke and Sun-Dried Tomato Pasta

Reviewed: Feb. 28, 2005
It was the perfect pasta mix and I didn't find it too oily. I did add a few more sundried tomatoes and artichokes than it called for. Of course I doubled the garlic. It really surprised me. I wasn't ready to it to be so good. The wine definately adds to the flavor. One last thing, I will add more cheese next time. That is the one thing it was lacking!!!

Everyone that tried it, loved it. I used whatever berries I had lying around at the time: Strawberries, rasberries and marionberries all grown in my parents yard. It was wonderful.

Chile Verde II

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2004
Very good recipe. My husband loves going to Mexican resturants and having this and I needed to find a way to make it at home. I add more jalapenos for spice and cut back on the chicken stock because it seemed to soupy at first.

American Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 20, 2004
Great recipe, super rich but that may be the way I made it. I used sausage instead of beef, added red chili peppers, olives, a can of tomato sauce and provolone cheese to the layers as well as doubling up on the mozz and parm. If you like cheese and spice, try this!!!
