Hey Y'all! I'm so excited to be here! A little about myself....I'm the wife to a wonderful man who started me on the path to cooking when we were dating. I fondly remember him teaching me how to fry chicken! I am also a SAHM to 2 wonderful children that I homeschool. I love to cook and my whole family loves to eat it up.
My favorite things to cook
A few of my favorite meals to cook are...Southern Fried Chicken with Garlic Mashed Potatoes and Corn on the Cob; Taco Soup with Tortilla chips and all the trimmings. I love to bake as well. I'm really open to cooking new things and will try anything twice!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother would make us grits, fried eggs and bacon on Saturday mornings. I do this for my family now but I add fried potatoes into the mix. Also, when my son is sick he ALWAYS ask for pancakes. SO, I whip up a batch and add whatever they want in and freeze leftovers for quick microwave mornings. I love when we are all in the kitchen together preparing meals. And if the kids aren't involved it can be so romantic cooking with my husband. Love goes into our meals and I think that is what makes them really special.
My cooking triumphs
I have conquered bread. I can make a fabulous loaf of bread, cinnamon rolls, biscuits etc. I look at every thing I cook as a triumph and accomplishment though.
My cooking tragedies
Ohhhh Gosh, we won't go into that now. LOL Well...maybe a ....little. When I first met my now husband, I tried to make breakfast including biscuits while he was out running errands early one morning. He came home to rocks on a pan. Lucky for me he was also carrying grocery bags with Grands biscuits. See Triumphs: I can now MAKE BISCUITS!
