Raised Yeast Waffles

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2008
These were pretty good waffles, let them go in the iron and they get nice and crispy. They are surprisingly light (not like the dense bricks you get when using straight pancake batter) I love baking bread so the yeast addition added a nice bit of flavor and additional lightness. As far as those who whined about the yeast, here's a hint not everything is supposed to taste like it came from a fast food restaurant. UPDATE : To make these AWESOME waffles, cut the butter in half and add an addition 1/4 cup of flour.

Applesauce Oat Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 15, 2008
I liked these muffins. I doubled the recipe and used butter i/o oil. Added ground ginger, craisins, and walnuts. These are a good not overly sweet muffin.

Cranberry Pistachio Biscotti

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
THIS will be my go to biscotti recipe. I've already made this at the request of my husband four times. Dipped in white chocolate, these were phenomenal Christmas cookies. ( Combine a bowl of these with a local coffee house gift card and you have an excellent gift )

Cherry Snowballs

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
This was a decent cookie, I made these this year for Christmas. It wasn't particularly difficult to make and the results were ok. I probably will not make this again though as I found the complexity in flavor less than mediocre. The cookie could be characterized simply by the word 'sweet' Not a whole lot of flavor, just sweet. The dough; however, could be spiced up and wrapped around something more flavorful.

Challah II

Reviewed: Jan. 5, 2008
I made this recipe this year for Christmas. It was AWESOME. Being more familiar with regular active dry yeast I used that instead and followed the recipe to a T. None of the guests found the bread too sweet, it was close in texture and taste to Hawaiian Style breads one would find in the store.
