Baked Kale Chips

I had some trouble getting them crispy enough without burning them but I have to use an apartment oven so I have problems baking anything.

Supreme Strawberry Topping

Someone from Allrecipes should have edited this recipe for clarity before approving it for the website, hence the 4 stars. I made it the way I thought it should be done, using the recipes ingredients as written, and found it to be exactly what I was looking for to top my angel food cake. I had frozen a pint of fresh strawberries I bought on sale and so I used those. The sugar to strawberry ratio was perfect for my taste and the vanilla was a nice touch.

Baked Custard for Two

Very, very good. I did two things differently after reading some of the reviews. I replaced 1 tsp. of the baking powder with baking soda and reduced the oil to 2 TBS. I will definitely make these again.

Bean Soup With Kale

This soup is fantastic (I'm eating a bowlful right now). The only thing I did differently was to drain and rinse the canned beans but, other than that, I followed the recipe exactly. It couldn't have been tastier.

Oatmeal Waffles

I was looking for a healthy waffle recipe and decided to try this one, using white wheat flour instead of all-purpose and adding vanilla. They were a bit heavy but very, very filling. I didn't feel hungry again for hours. I will make them again.

Best Tuna Melt (New Jersey Diner Style)

I loved it! The only change I made was one of necessity...Provolone slices instead of Swiss. Otherwise, I followed the recipe exactly. The tuna itself was so good I'll never make tuna salad any other way. Thanks for sharing.

Vegan Split Pea Soup II

This was the best split pea soup I have ever made. I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of using green split peas instead of yellow. When the soup was done, I put half of it in a blender, pureed it and mixed it back into the rest of the soup to make it thicker. The recipe says it makes 6 servings but I ate almost half of it for lunch today. It was so good I kept going back to the pot for more.

These were great. I gave it four stars instead of five because I changed two things. I used 2 sticks of unsalted butter and set the oven at 350 instead of 375 and baked for 10 minutes for a couple of batches and 9 minutes for the rest. I will definitely make them again. I love butterscotch!
