I thought this recipe was great! I made this last night for the first time. I made a few additions to suit our tastes- I added salt and pepper, a little onion powder, and a little dried basil in addition to the fresh basil. Instead of cream I used 1/2 cup half and half and half cup low fat milk. Like the other reviews said, I reduced the butter to about 5 or 6 T. Tonight we had this for leftovers and I made it even better and heartier for dinner by adding white rice (about 2 or 3 cups, cooked rice) making it a tomato rice soup and garnishing with grated cheese. OMG the rice and the cheese made it soooo good. I was just trying to change it up so it didn't feel like leftovers but from now on I am always going to make this a tomato rice soup!
