World's Best Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2013
The sauce....seemed to have the taste and texture of flour, and I used the recipe as written. Wondering instead of milk, maybe could have used sour cream???? Oh, well... Lots of work, for the result. I would rather just use sugar, vinegar, mayo or salad dressing, and mustard. Hopefully remaining in the refrigerator for 8 hours will improve the problem.

Mom's Cheesecake

Reviewed: Mar. 19, 2012
There was nothing good about this cheesecake. It had a funny texture, poor flavor, the baking instructions were to long (overdone). Never again.

Mother's Applesauce Muffins

Reviewed: Jan. 26, 2012
These are delicious! I used golden raisins, all I had, and Savory baking spice - which made the muffins special. It is a wonderful blend of Saigon and Indonesian cinnamon, nutmeg, mace, allspice and ginger. Also dipped them in melted butter, cinnamon and sugar after they were done. This recipe goes in my file!

Cherry Bars

Do not underbake these - they will be soggy. And I think they have a bit to much almond flavoring, a little goes a long way. I cut back on the flavoring in the glaze.

Banana Muffins I

I will never make these again. They were dry and like rubber, with very little flavor. They need some oil or something.

Herbed Corn

My daughter cut this recipe in half, and served it with Lasagna. It was the perfect compliment, and there was not one kernel left over. Yum!

Yummy Tater Tot Casserole

Reviewed: Apr. 24, 2011
This is not for the calorie counter, the restricted sodium diet, or the low cholesterol diet. That said, it is delicious! I added celery and chopped mushrooms to the saute, and 1/2 can of Fiesta Nacho Cheese soup. I used one can each of Cream of Mushroom and Cream of Chicken. (Doubled the recipe for a big crowd). I would not add salt to this recipe, the chips on the top add plenty. We had this for our Easter dinner, big hit!

Green Bean Casserole I

Reviewed: Mar. 28, 2011
This is a great recipe. My sweet 88 year old Mom does not like the "Green Bean Casserole" that has those "Greasy onions on top" (her words)! So I searched for another version. I have used a lot of different toppings, seasoned bread crumbs, veggie crackers, etc. I took a large casserole to the church pot luck, and it was all gone, and compliments were flying!

Vickie's Beer Bread

Reviewed: Mar. 6, 2011
This is so very delicious! I added some cheddar cheese and fresh basil pesto. The butter makes it, next time I am going to make it in muffin tins, so everybody gets a lot of buttery crust.

Felix K.'s 'Don't even try to say these aren't the best you've ever eaten, because they are' Chocolate Chip Cookies

Cookie dough. Who really likes cookies that aren't done? They probably are good, if baked long enough and at a proper temp. Never, never again.

Herb Roasted Chicken and Vegetables

Reviewed: Feb. 4, 2011
We thought this was a wonderful recipe. I brought the carrots and potatoes to a boil, and then simmered them for 10 minutes. I used chicken broth to boil them in, and then added that to the soup instead of 1/3 cup of water. I also used cream of chicken soup, and added about 1/2 cup of sour cream. The sour cream does something special! Spiced it up a little, as other reviewers suggested, added mushrooms and onion and baked it all for 60 minutes. Turned out perfect.

Sensational Salmon Loaf

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2011
This Salmon loaf lives up to it's name! I used two eggs, a little more milk and less crackers. I also added some dried parsley, about 1 large teaspoon, and used red, yellow and orange pepper instead of green. I added 1/2 of cheese crumbles to the mix, yum! My husband does not usually run wild after salmon loaf, loved this, and ate two helpings.

Apple Butter Pumpkin Pie

Reviewed: Nov. 22, 2010
Why do I do this to myself? I like traditional pumpkin pie, so I try this recipe for our Harvest Festival at church???? I didn't like the texture, the flavor of nutmeg, or the topping. Sometimes you just have to stick with something you know. This recipe goes in file 13.

Big Soft Ginger Cookies

Reviewed: Nov. 7, 2010
These have been received with raves! Sent some with the pheasant hunters, they loved them. I cut the ginger back just a little - I have a good quality ginger, and it is potent. These are a soft cookie, do not bake them too long.

Great Pumpkin Cookies

I was just not impressed at all. How are you suppose to eat two big cookies? Cut them with a pizza cutter? They were OK, but that is it. I made them into regular cookies.
