I almost threw out the Christmas ham bone, then I decided to look for a suitable recipe for it. This is it! I was pressed for time, so I cooked this on top of the stove for about an hour or less. I added fresh chopped carrots and celery and a bit of garlic powder and black pepper, and a can of corn. I didn't have kidney beans, so I used a can of Great Northern Beans. Don't add any salt, it's just perfect the way it is. Wonderful flavorful soup!
I will most definitely make this again.
