Honey Mustard Carrots

Reviewed: Jul. 11, 2009
Wow, what a nice change for serving carrots! I use cumin all the time, but it never occured to me to put it in carrots. The honey balances out the cumin very nicely. Thanks for this recipe, I will make it often.

Easy Batter Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
I made this yesterday with blueberries and strawberries. I added a tsp of cinnamon to the batter, and I sprinkled sugar on the fruit before adding it to the dish, then again after. The cobbler is already gone! It was so delicious! Nice crisp crust on top compliments the fruit very nicely. I have another cobbler in the oven right now, this time with peaches.

Whole Wheat Beer Bread

Reviewed: Feb. 21, 2009
I really enjoyed this bread as did my co-workers. It's so easy to make. I have sliced it and added butter, garlic powder and shredded cheese and melted it under the broiler. I do cut the salt back to 1 teaspoon. Great recipe!

Out of this World Turkey Brine

Reviewed: Nov. 27, 2008
What a wonderful method for creating the most flavorful, moist meat I have ever tasted. I tested this brine on a whole 5 lb chicken a few days ago, adjusting the recipe of course, and brined for 8 hours. Best chicken I ever roasted! My turkey was just as good! I will always brine from now on! Note: I took out the middle shelf of my refrigerator to accomadate the bucket that I brined the turkey in, worked great!

Turkey Taco Salad

Reviewed: Jul. 17, 2008
We just had this for supper for the first time. It was very good! The dressing is excellent. I used salsa and taco sauce for the dressing. Also, I used Romaine lettuce, added chopped tomatoes, omitted the olives, and used ground chicken. I will make this again.

Blueberry Buckle

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2008
This is a very good recipe. For the fruit I used fresh strawberries and black raspberries and it was delicious! Next time I will cut the topping ingredients in half which is plenty to cover the dish. I will add this one to my favorites!

Spicy Chicken and Sweet Potato Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 10, 2007
Excellent Stew with a boat load of flavor. I added about a cup of mild salsa and a teaspoon of sugar to bring out the tomato flavor. The sweet potatoes are a nice touch, and the absorb the spices. I will make this again.

Peach Cobbler Dump Cake II

Reviewed: Apr. 10, 2007
This dump cake tastes a lot like a good peach cobbler. I have made it several times. I use the drained peach juice, and do not add the water. Also, I cut the butter to a 1/4 cup. Adding 1/2 cup of chopped nuts and a teaspoon of cinnamon really adds to it. So easy and delicious!

Creamy Peanut Butter Fudge

Reviewed: Dec. 24, 2006
Made this today for Christmas Eve festivities. It is very creamy, lots of flavor. I followed the recipe, and it set up fine. Make sure you let it come to a boil that can't be knocked down with a spoon before starting the 7 minute timer. This is a keeper for me!

Slow Cooker Turkey Breast

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2006
Absolutely glorious! 2 ingredients, one 5-6 quart slow cooker = perfection. You cannot ask for more. My store happened to have frozen turkey breast for .78 cent per lb this week. What a value! We ate 3 meals from the original recipe, then I made a turkey lasagna out of the leftover meat. What a savings, and very tasty. I have sent this recipe to all my family and friends. I would encourage you to try it. I will always use this method for future Thanksgivings.

Ham Bone Soup

Reviewed: Dec. 30, 2005
I almost threw out the Christmas ham bone, then I decided to look for a suitable recipe for it. This is it! I was pressed for time, so I cooked this on top of the stove for about an hour or less. I added fresh chopped carrots and celery and a bit of garlic powder and black pepper, and a can of corn. I didn't have kidney beans, so I used a can of Great Northern Beans. Don't add any salt, it's just perfect the way it is. Wonderful flavorful soup! I will most definitely make this again.

Confetti Bean Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 20, 2005
Wonderful tasting salad! I did not use the canned tomatoes, I used fresh tomatoes from my garden and added some italian seasoning. I also had some banana peppers from the garden, so I chopped one and tossed a 1/4 cup so so of into the bowl. One other change, I added just a pinch of sugar to the dressing because I like a sweet vinegar dressing. Very good recipe.

Aunt Janet's Pumpkin Dump Cake

Reviewed: Feb. 16, 2005
Very easy recipe to assemble. I took this cake to work and all enjoyed it. Next time, for my personal taste, I won't use an entire box of cake mix to sprinkle on top. I find it just a bit too sweet. But overall, Great Cake!
