About this Cook
I love new recipes and surprising my family with ingredients they end up liking but would never think of trying.
My favorite things to cook
New, healthy recipes that actually turn out great! (Stuffed, hand roasted Pablano Chilies w/feta cheese and corn relish is currently my favorite!)
My favorite family cooking traditions
The night before Thanksgiving we all get in the kitchen - kids included - and chop, peel, grate, dice and slice the evening away! It really makes the meal more meaningful to know we all contributed and it makes 1/2 the work the next day (I pre-measure everything and store in zip locks).
My cooking triumphs
I prepared a sit-down meal for 50 guests at a surprise party... 3 different kinds of Enchiladas! It turned out awesome!
My cooking tragedies
Pop-overs that don't pop!

Split Pea Soup Atu
Deff. read the reviews before you start. I also used about 1/2 the water and added rice towards the end. Could have used a bit more pepper flakes or hot pepper sauce, but it was delich!! Hubby raved about it. I also cooked it in a crock pot for about 6 hours (high to start, then on low for about 4 hours). I threw in some leftover turkey from Thanksgiving too...

Triple Berry Crisp
5 stars all the way!! This was excellent and so easy to make. I did reduce the butter to only 1 cup and increased the berries to about 5 cups as suggested in other reveiws. When cutting in the butter, make sure it's very cold or even frozen beforehand or you won't get the crispness on top. If the butter tends to get soft while you're cutting it into the mix, just turn on the broiler for a few minutes after it's thourghly cooked.

Sauteed Curried Corn
Amazingly quick and delicious!!! I used a lot less butter (about 1/2) and more granulated garlic instead of the powder. Topped it off with a little cayenne pepper and everyone loved it!
