Make Ahead Party Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Nov. 28, 2008
OK HERE'S THE DEAL WITH THESE POTATOES!! IF YOUR FAMILY LOVES SOUR CREAM- THE WILL DEMOLISH THESE POTATOES!! IF YOUR HUSBAND OR DAD DOES NOT LIKE SOURCREAM (LIKE MINE), THEN THEY WILL NOT LIKE THEM- THERE IS NONE OF THEM LEFT THOUGH!! MY SISTER ATE 3 BOWLS- MY BROTHER COULD NOT BELIEVE THEY WERE INSTANT!! AS FOR ME THE COOK, THEY ARE VERY EASY, YOU CAN MAKE THEM 2 DAYS AHEAD AND LEAVE IN FRIG TO BAKE YOUR DAY OF- THIS IS A BIG, BIG PLUS!!! MOST THE INGREDIENTS IN IT ARE ALSO ON SALE AT HOLIDAY TIME- ANY OTHER TIME THAT'S A LOT OF SOURCREAM AND CREAM CHEESE AND BUTTER- ALL IN ALL, WHEN ALL IS SAID AND DONE, IT'S A GREAT FAMILY RECIPE!!!

Honey Mustard Stuffed Chicken Breasts

Reviewed: Feb. 23, 2011
Used sugar-free honey (makes recipe low-carb)- very tastey... Did not cover!!!! Sauce was plenty thick... Two of my breasts were big enough to stuff.. I butterflied them and beat'em.. I had 2 small breasts that I flattened and just put ham and cheese on top.. Worked fine that way too... even easier.. Thanks

Mozzarella Mushroom Chicken

Reviewed: May 15, 2009
I KNOW I SHOULD TRY AS RECIPE STATES FIRST BUT I COULDN'T HELP MYSELF- I KNOW THIS RECIPE AS STATED WOULD BE AWESOME THOUGH- BUT.... HERE'S MY CHANGES- PLEASE REMEMBER THAT I EAT LOW CARB, SO FAT IS NOT COUNTED- 4 BONELESS CHIC BREAST- POUNDED THEM- PLACED IN A BAKING DISH AND SALTED, PEPPERED, AND SMEARED ON MINCED GARLIC- LAID SMALL SLICES OF BUTTER ON TOP-LAID BACON ON TOP OF THAT (NOT HUGE AMOUNTS PEOPLE)- BAKED AT 350 UNTIL ALMOST COOKED- TURNED ON BROILER TO CRISP BACON- COVER IN MUSHROOMS THAT I HAD SAUTEED IN PAN WITH BUTTER AND COVERED WITH MOZZARELLA- RAN BACK UNTIL BROILER UNTIL MELTED- I DECIDED TO BAKE 'COZ ONCE YOU POUND 4 BREASTS ITS HARD TO COOK IN A SKILLET ALL AT ONCE- HOLY COW- IT WAS SO AWESOME AND TENDER- AND ACTUALLY BEAUTIFUL- THAT CHEESE UNDER THE BROILER STARTS TO JUST GET COLOR LIKE IT DOES ON A PIZZA- NICE PRESENTATION-

Mama's Asian Chicken and Rice

Reviewed: Jan. 14, 2011
My 12 year old son gave this a 1000 stars.. I personally would not used the cooking method listed hence the 4 stars.. too much simmering. Also would always add vegetables, I think your losing a good opportunity witha great sauce not to get your vegetables in..The sauce.. 5 stars..Only a couple changes.. used orange juice concentrate instead of juice and eliminated the peel. Used dark mushroom soy, rice vinegar.. They only change my son would make is to 1/2 the red pepper.. It was fine for me.. Doubled the sauce.. I cooked more like stirfry.. Marinated my chicken in a little of the sauce for about an hour.. added cornstarch to the sauce itself.. A little oil in wok and I cooked my chicken till almost done.. removed from wok.. a little oil and I added a healthy bunch of broccoli and snow peas to wok and stirfried couple of minutes.. added in sauce.. simmered a couple of minutes till it started to thicken and added back in my chicken .. couple of minutes and it was cooked through and we were eating.. served over rice.. Would definitely make again with these changes.

Swanson® Maple Dijon Chicken

Reviewed: Feb. 5, 2010
In fairness to the recipe, It turned out the way it said- It thickened down for me(others had problems)- but... I did not like it- I love maple but apparently not with my chicken- shockingly- my 11 yr old son and my dh loved it- real surprize as he is very hard to satisfy.... so try it for your self- It apparently is a matter of your personal taste..

This is a great base recipe. I had 1 1/2# of beef so I doubles the sauce, and I was glad I did to have plenty. I omitted tomatoes (didn't have any). Used fresh ginger.. the balance is pretty could in this recipe but at the end it needed a tweak. I added garlic.. 2 cloves... 2 tbls. of oyster sauce.. yumm.. would definitely use recipe again with these modifications.. thanks

Jimmy Dean Sausage Cheese Balls

Reviewed: Mar. 24, 2011
Holy Cow!! The best sausage balls ever!! my family has made sausage balls every holiday season since the beginning of sausage! I can remember sitting and mixing with my hands when I was little! These are the best.. I've had them too dry, too greasy, you name it.. but if your a sausage ball lover this is the recipe.. Never had I had them or made them with onion and celery.. I used hot sausage to give plenty of flavor.. I wanted to spread the celery and onion love and used my mini-processor to finely mice them.. instead of the 2 teas. garlic I used 1 teaspoon of garlic salt and 1 teas. of reg salt.. Used low carb bake mix(carbquik) -- This make these very low-carb.. Yum.. hot or cold grab and go goodness.. For all who are first0time sausage ballers- Yes they are greasy- hey you got 2# of sausage and a # of cheese. what do you think?? drain on paper towels out of oven.. Make sure your baking sheet has sides.... Yes they are stiff to mix.. Put all your ingredients in a bowl and let come to room temp.. These are almost impossible to mix with a spoon.. so... Wash those hands and take off those rings and dig in!! Never tried it but maybe a good processor would do the job... Gonna make some more today... Like I said with the low carb mix these guys are awesome for snacks!!!
