About this Cook
Working Mom and wife with two girls and a husband that eat most anything. Lucky me :-) I am trying to branch out our meat and potatoes and pasta meals. Needing to work towards low fat, due to recently having my gall bladder removed. For those that don't know what a gall bladder does, it breaks down fat. When you don't have it it makes you sick to eat to much fat.
My favorite things to cook
Spaghetti, Alfredo, and find new ways to cook Roasts.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Homemade macaroni and hot dogs, passed down from my mom's side of the family. Each generations loves it. Whether it's as is, covered in ketchup, or BBQ sauce.
My cooking triumphs
Cooking basil shrimp on the new BBQ for my husbands 30th b day for a group of 20. It took a long time to get all those ca-bobs filled but once they were cooked they diapered.
My cooking tragedies
My first clam chowder. Way to much salt. I couldn't put anymore potatoes in to absorb all of it. Since then I have made a variety of chowders that have tasted wonderful.

Pretzel Turtles
I used Rolos and square pretzels. I didn't use any nuts because of allergies. So I had to use a spoon and a knife to get the spoon off. The oil didn't help the spoon from sticking.

Shrimp Avocado Pasta Salad
I got the kids involved in making this one. I did everything with the exception of the mayo, miracle whip instead (all I had). Will try next time with mayo. Had the girls shred the lettuce, cut the avocados and mix all the ingredients. My oldest(7) asked and took it to school for lunch the next day.
