Taco Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 14, 2007
For not being a cook, this dish was very easy to make. Hubby and I both liked it, with salsa on top. We felt like it was missing something though so next time we're taking others advice and adding some refried beans and black olives.

World's Best Lasagna

Reviewed: May 26, 2009
I followed the directions perfectly but it tasted too salty. Otherwise it was incredible. My first time ever making lasagna! I didn't bake or wet my noodles first, they went from the box right into the layers of the dish and came out perfectly. I'll add less salt next time but still, this will become a regular dish in my home!

American Lasagna

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2009
I wish I would have read the reviews but I was in a hurry so I followed the recipe exactly...definately not enough sauce. Still very good and will be making again using other suggestions to add more paste/sauce.

My first attempt at Chili and I know I'll never need to look for another recipe. You will have LOTS to share or freeze for later.

Easy Bacon and Cheese Quiche

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2009
I used real bacon instead of bacon bits and it was wonderful. I love making quiches becaues they're so quick and easy for any time of the day and year! I'll be making this one again and again.

Apple-Raisin French Toast Casserole

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2009
My family loves this recipe. I have made it a few times but still haven't figured out the right apples to use. I'm a beginner in the kitchen so I wish the recipe would have specified what apple to choose.

Cheesy Ranch Chex® Mix

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2009
Buy slow cooker liners so you can add all ingredients and shake to mix. (Even the large Ziploc bags aren't big enough to hold all the snacks in this recipe). SO much easier than stirring ingredients in a bowl

Hamburger Pie

Reviewed: Jun. 26, 2009
I had to make a few changes as I only had instant potatoes on hand and I had to use (1 can) tomato sauce instead of tomato soup. I spiced it up a little with some garlic powder and italian seasoning just for flavor. I also used 2 cans of green beans. It was very tasty and so easy that I thought I was missing a step. My toddlers love this so it's a keeper.

This was not good. It was easy to whip up and bake but something is not quite right about this one.

Irish Cream Brownies

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
These were not to my liking. I was really looking forward to the frosting most of all because of a previous review but what a disappointment.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Jul. 5, 2009
I've never made pancakes from scratch before but it's what my 3yo requested for breakfast so I gave it a shot. We made the whole batch and he begged me to make them again for lunch.

Apricot Glazed Chicken

Reviewed: Jul. 6, 2009
I thought mine came out a little bland so next time I will be adding more apricot and making the sauce thicker.

Seven Layer Tortilla Pie

Reviewed: Jul. 9, 2009
Surprisingly good! I put my tortillas in the oven for a couple minutes to prevent get them a little crispy (as another reviewer suggested). I didn't have cilantro. I used one can of refried beans (instead of pinto beans) and I cooked some ground beef with half an envelope of taco seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder and chipotle chili powder. I sprinkled some black olives on top. Mine only had 4 layers so I made the other 3 layers in another dish, and put it in the freezer for later...I've never frozen a meal before so I hope it holds up well!

Apple Kielbasa Coins

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
This was way to sweet for our tastes. My kids are 2 and 3, love apples and kielbasa so I really thought this would be a great meal for them, not picky eaters, but really disappointing. I did make kielbasa coins for breakfast the other day and cooked them in apple juice though so I pulled one idea from this recipe that I'll keep.

Baked Ziti I

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
I love making this ziti, however, I mix my noodles with the meat, sauce and sour cream before I bake it. I hate layering it because some noodles never get any sauce. Once I coat all the noodles I add half of them to the baking dish, add a layer of cheeses, then add the other half of noodles and top again with cheese. Really yummy!

Missy's Candied Walnut Gorgonzola Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2009
I absolutely love this salad. You could use so many ingredients in place or along with the ones mentioned. I'm hoping to find candied nuts at the store next time as mine usually turn out clumped together. I can break most of them up but I'd rather skip that whole step altogether :)

Clark's Quiche

Reviewed: Sep. 3, 2009
My family loved this dish! My toddlers love anything with eggs so I really couldn't go wrong here. I didn't have spinach so I just left it out. I only did one pie and next time will bake the pie crust first so the bottom is done.

Creamy Chicken Lasagna

Reviewed: Sep. 5, 2009
I added the sauteed onions, garlic, Italian seasoning, etc. that most others suggested. I also added a bit of spinach for color. The taste is great...if you like cream cheese in your lasagna. It's a keeper recipe but from now on I'll be using ricotta cheese instead.

Grilled Chicken and Portobello Lasagna Rollups

Reviewed: Sep. 7, 2009
This was worth the time and effort. We didn't use chicken though and instead used ground beef. I also used Italian seasoning and lots of garlic. I wanted to cook the mushrooms and spinach in white wine like someone else suggested but I forgot - next time!
