I've made this twice now, both times in the slow cooker. REALLY REALLY GOOD!! Considering there's barely any work involved (short of peeling the apples and mixing a few ingredients), so well worth making vs. buying!!! First time, made it as written - entire family LOVED it (including 4 kids not always appreciative of my efforts). Second time, tried others' suggestions of using brown sugar instead of white and a bit of nutmeg. Still LOVED it!!! The only word of warning (and to NO FAULT of the recipe), watch the kind of apples you use. The second time I made it, I used apples that were squirting me as I was peeling them and I thought, hmmmm, I should cut back on the recommended water.....but I didn't. When it was done, I did find it was a bit more watery but it still tasted great. Just something to keep in mind.
