Caramelized French Toast

These are awesome, but the recipe has a flaw--when making the carmel sauce DO NOT wait until the brown sugar is entirely melted or when you add the water it turns to stone! If you add the water shortly after adding the brown sugar it turns out great. I dipped them in when it was still pretty liquid-y and it harded up on the plate. It was especially amazing with cinnamon bread! Tasted like carmel rolls! Three stars only because of the flaw in the instructions, otherwise a 5 - I will keep and make again when we have company.

Easy Meatloaf

Awesome, but not sure it would be awesome without the modifications reviewers suggest which is why I give it 4 stars. Definitely double the sauce, brown the onions and cook for longer than one hour. Otherwise definitely a keeper!

Holiday Chicken Salad

Hands down the best chicken salad recipe I've used and I've used a lot! I also added a little poultry seasoning and cherry flavored cranberries which I actually bought on mistake, but were good. I omitted the green pepper and used a rotissere chicken to save time. Really pretty and really tasty! This will definitely be the recipe I settle on.

Toffee Chocolate Chip Cookies

Yep--definitely can't use two sticks of butter instead of shortening and butter! I just did and they are super flat. Still taste good, but don't look great. I don't buy shortening so I'll look for a different recipe next time.

Raw Veggie Picnic Salad

I didn't love this recipe. Brought it to a neighborhood party and it wasn't that popular. For all the work and expense of ingredients, I'd do a more simple version next time. Ended up throwing some out. I do usually like the more traditional version of this salad so was suprised I didn't love it.

Eggplant Croquettes

WOW! One of few I've given 5 stars. I added crushed corn flakes (which you can buy pre-crushed) and these were awesome! I didn't have any trouble mashing, but did have to microwave much longer than the directions stated. I served with a spicy tomato sauce that I had made for some stuffed banana peppers I was making at the same time.

Chunky Monkey Pancakes

Made these for company and they loved them! The first batch I forgot to add the eggs and wondered why the batter wasn't runny so added more skim milk. The next batch I added the eggs and only used the amount of milk called for in the recipe. Myself and one guest liked the first batch better as it was much more dense and you could taste the bananas and chocolate more. The other guest liked the proper recipe better because it was much more cake-like so I guess it just depends on what type of pancake you like. Either way, it was great!

Hot Pepper Mustard

This stuff is awesome! I think the recipe could be written better though which is why I rated it 4 stars. Tips for people using this recipe--as mentioned, it yields 16 - 8oz jars. Don't worry about chopping up the peppers too much in the food processor, they cook down. I added one jalapeno and kept the seeds in to make it spicier. I put the water/flour mix in a quart jar and shook it up, that worked well and I didn't have any trouble with chunks that way. Had to get it out with a small rubber scrapper though as it does get thick! Otherwise recipe was great!

Blueberry Crumb Bars

These were a big hit at a 4th of July BBQ. I added raspberries to make the red and blue. Super easy to make. I don't think it was a mistake when the hostess didn't return the leftovers to me the next day.

Creamy Banana Bread

Drop Biscuits and Gravy

Really good--I made no changes from the gravy recipe and it was good. I don't think it was unique otherwise I would have given it a five. Just a good comfort food recipe. I'd make it again.

Thai Chicken Dip

This is the first Allrecipes recipe that I have gone wrong with. Usually the ratings always tell the truth, but I have to say, I really did not like this dip. People at the party I brought it to ate it politely, but definitely not a keeper and I threw away the rest. I tried to make into lettuce wraps, but even that wasn't great. Very greasy between the coconut cream and peanut butter.

Mexican Corn

OMG! I always have such good luck on Allrecipes, but be careful with this one! I just made it for a potluck and used only 3 peppers. I love spicy stuff and my husband eats ridiculously spicy stuff and even with just 3 peppers it's almost inedible. I am going to just present it as corn salsa because I don't have time to re-make it with less peppers because it definitely can't be eaten as a side dish! Maybe when the original recipe says 10 peppers they mean of the sliced canned/jared type?

Creamy Veggie Fondue

This is one of my favorite recipes I've found on All Recipes. This is a great fondue for people not fond of the traditional Swiss cheese flavor. I omit the onions and spinach and I've recently replaced the wine with beer since I was out of wine the last time I made this. Everyone asks for the recipe and it couldn't be more simple. It reminds me of the Beer Cheese fondue at the Melting Pot restaurant.

Pumpkin Dip

This was a good recipe. I liked it best with apples. I tried Nilla Wafers, but that wasn't as good as apples or ginger snaps. This was something different--could go for appetizer or dessert.

Awesome Sausage, Apple and Cranberry Stuffing

This is a good recipe--something a little bit different. I would recommend toasting your bread longer than the recipe indicates. I didn't and my bread was kind of smooshed together. I used fresh herbs and that made a huge difference!
