Sausage and Cornbread Dressing

Reviewed: Nov. 25, 2006
This was the most outstanding accompanimemnt to our Thanksgiving turkey. We opted for a sweet Italian turkey sausage, and used a poultry seasoning instead of purchasing all the individual spices. This is far more flavorful than any plain bread stuffing I've ever had.

Easy Vodka Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 2, 2013
This recipe yields enough sauce for 2 lbs. of pasta, but it is easily halved. The sauce is deliciously rich with butter, heavy cream and grated cheese. I soak a dried red pepperI overnight in the pasta, and cook it into the sauce for some extra bite which works nicely with all that dairy. I also use whole canned tomatoes, which I puree in the blender for a smooth, velvety sauce. I recommend adding a pound to penne cooked al dente to the sauce to thoroughly coat before serving. Top with grated romano or parmesan, and chopped fresh basil or Italian parsley.

Greek Lentil Soup (Fakes)

Reviewed: Feb. 18, 2012
This is an outstanding lentil soup, and even acceptable to my vegan friends. It has lots of flavor and is a very healthy and hearty dish. Thank you for sharing this with us, Diana.

Lemon Asparagus Pasta

Reviewed: Jun. 13, 2013
I made it exactly as called for, but I found it to be bland, lacking flavor, and uninteresting. There are lots of good recipes out there for asparagus and pasta, but this is not one of them.

Panettone II

Reviewed: Dec. 27, 2012
My loaf turned out too dry, and too dense for panettone. It looked beautiful, but lacked the flavor of a real Italian panettone. The smallest setting on my bread machine is for a 2 lb. loaf. The crust came out with a very pleasant color, but the bread did not have the desired texture. I'm new with a bread machine, and I welcome any suggestions.

Sam's Famous Carrot Cake

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2013
I brought this to a party and people said it was the best carrot cake they ever had. I didn't have buttermilk, so I substituted almond mild with a little lemon juice. This is the kind of cake that you can't stop eating.

Chicken Satay

Reviewed: Sep. 15, 2012
This is an easy recipe, and my guests raved about it. I used chicken tenderloins, one per skewer, which is fast and easy. I nuked the marinade and it thickened beautifully and it made a delicious sauce.
