About this Cook
Im 21, live with my b/f and we enjoy trying new recipes.
My favorite things to cook
Home made Pizza, appetizers, & Roast Beef
My favorite family cooking traditions
Me and my two sisters and my mom all take a few days off work at the beginning of december every year and bake all day for about three days till we have more cookies and tarts and cakes and squares then anybody can handle.
My cooking triumphs
My mom is an amazing cook, I have watched her for years and finally after many attempts I duplicated her roast beef.
My cooking tragedies
The first time I cooked blackened chicken.... I used WAY to much cayenne pepper and the entire house filled up with smoke and because of all the cayenne when you went to breathe you would breathe in a bunch of pepper, my roomates and bf and I all had swollen eyes and raspy voices from choking on the pepper. I havent attempted it since. haha

Chocolate Caramel Cheesecake
I used chocolate cookie crumbs for this cake. It is DELICIOUS. Two things i will do different next time: 1) use about 50 caramels for the filling as 30 was not enough. 2) Use more milk in the carmel as it end up a little harder then I would like. I put carmel on top too and almost doubled the amount of milk it asked for and it was still thick but not "chewy" Over all one of my favorite cheesecakes for sure.

Caramel Shortbread Squares
these are really awesome. to ensure a good crust USE REAL BUTTER. trust me it helps and you dont need to butter your pan. make sure when you put the dough in the pan you poke holes all over it with a fork. and make sure each layers is cooled completely before adding the next layer. I didnt have light corn syup so I used golden syrup and its turned out great. Thanks for the recipe
