Apple Crisp II

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2007
The crust was sooo good! I made minor changes like tossing the apples in the cinnamon/sugar/flour mix and using only 1/4 cup of water as others suggested.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Jun. 21, 2007
Delish!! Followed other reviewers' suggestion to put the brown sugar and ketchup on top. Given I only had bread crumbs on hand, I used it instead of saltine cracker crumbs.

Simple BBQ Ribs

Reviewed: May 20, 2007
WOW! After boiling the ribs, I let them marinate overnight in BBQ sauce. The next day, I threw them on the grill and basted them with more BBQ sauce. They were fall off the bones tender! WOW!

Deviled Eggs

Reviewed: May 20, 2007
My guests ate them all up within minutes. However, I only thought it was okay. The Kraft Foods recipe for Deviled Eggs still remains my recipe of choice.

Chicken and Bacon Shish Kabobs

Reviewed: May 20, 2007
They were gobbled up as soon as they came off the grill. I added garlic to the marinade and used fresh pineapple. Better!

Baklava

Reviewed: May 11, 2007
So SWEET but so GOOD! The tips from other reviewers helped a lot! Make the sauce first, use a damp towel, butter every two layers, and make a half more of the sauce. Time consuming but not difficult. Got a lot of raves for this one!

Roasted New Potatoes

Reviewed: May 8, 2007
Great with the chicken wings I served. Don't really like the rosemary, so I'm going to leave it out the next time around.

Reviewed: May 2, 2007
the batter looked too "wet" and needed more peanut butter but it was so soft and chewy.

Garlic Shrimp Pasta

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2007
odd techniques - instead i sauteed the shrimp in butter and minced garlic. also, missing something - so i seasoned with some salt, pepper, red chili flakes. it's simple enough to make but not that great in taste.

Broiled Tilapia Parmesan

Reviewed: Apr. 3, 2007
I'm not a fan of fish but that was one yum-o dish! I added bread crumbs to the mixture and gave it a nice crunch.

Spaghetti Sauce III

Reviewed: Mar. 21, 2007
This is a perfect recipe to use to get a general idea on how to make a spaghetti sauce. I used all the ingredients but measured according to my own taste which made it great! ADD sugar and salt. USE fresh garlic over garlic powder.

Fruit Cobbler

Reviewed: Mar. 1, 2007
delicious cake-like cobbler! i used canned peaches to save time. to compensate for not using fresh, i added 1/4 teaspoon of cinnamon and sprinkled the top with brown sugar. this is the best tasting dessert that ive made from this website so far.

Best Brownies

Reviewed: Feb. 13, 2007
These were the BEST BROWNIES even without the frosting. Just don't OVERBAKE/OVERMIX. When doubling, leave out one egg, keep the amount of salt at 1/4 tsp, and bake for 30-35 mins. You'll get a cakey on the outside, fudgey in the middle brownie. Delish!

Linda's Monster Cookies

Reviewed: Dec. 14, 2006
i'm guilty of not following the recipe exactly but instead the tips of others: bake at 325 degrees for 13 minutes, substitute peanut butter for margarine, halved the recipe (yield 4 dozen cookies!). tasted great right out of the oven but they were solid rocks the next day. there are much better recipes.

so bland - needed garlic powder, oregano, onion powder, and basil in the bread crumb mixture for a better taste. (or Italian seasoned bread crumbs.)

there was a lot of smoke coming out of my oven at 500F which scared my dog like i never seen before but i stuck to it and it came out beautifully. i've used this marinade on rib-eye steaks too. works great!
