Slow Cooker Potato Corn Chowder

Reviewed: Feb. 7, 2014
The idea is great, although I thought the chowder was bland. We had to add salt to it in order to eat it. And the hash brown potatoes just went mushy. When I try this again, I plan to use chicken broth instead of the vegetable, and add bacon or ham cubes for interest, and use tater tots instead of the hash browns. And I probably won't cook it as long; I think that contributed to the mushiness. And maybe more whole kernel corn. I didn't think there was nearly enough corn in it.

Toasted Strawberry-Cream Cheese Breakfast Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jul. 2, 2012
We made this for dinner tonight. Words cannot express how yummy this is! Definitely a keeper. We don't drink, so I marinated the berries in orange juice instead. And we added a sprinkling of powdered sugar on top. It was so good! Next time, I think I will use the whipped spreadable cream cheese. It will amaze it both easier to spread, it will be easier to mix in the juice and chocolate. It might be good dipped in egg and French toasted instead as wll.

Carrot Pudding

Reviewed: Nov. 9, 2011
This is the exact same recipe that my grandmother made every year for thanksgiving. It came to America with her English grandmother. Thanks for the canning jars idea! My mom used to steam it in empty shortening cans, but shortening doesn't come in tin cans anymore and I'm not a coffee drinker! I was at a loss as to what to steam it in since I don't have a steamed pudding mold. I haven't had this in a long, long time. I'll have to make it this year. This is also very good with a lemon sauce or hot with ice cream and caramel sauce on top.
