Prize Winning Baby Back Ribs

I need the grill for other things, so I used the spice rub and baked three racks in foil (each in its own foil packet) for 2 hrs at 300 deg. Then I took them out, let them set till I was ready to use them, and put them on a medium low grill, flipped them, sauced them, and AMAZING. Going before they hit the table. Note: to remove the membrane take a sharp knife, run it along the middle of the smallest bone on the bony side. Separate it carefully and then just pull it off in one swoop. Works every time, and no coming off in pieces. Enjoy and bask in the glory.

Passover Chocolate Mandelbrot

I prepared these for the first time and they are all gone! I got a really high yield of cookies out of this, prob about 4 doz biscuits. I formed 3 loaves, baked them on parchment paper lined pan, and only baked them for about 35 minutes. I cooled them for 20 min, sliced them, sprinkled them again with cinn sugar, and hit them again at 250 for another 30 min. Superb! They were crunchy without being totally dried out. Next time I will add cranberries and nuts (I left the nuts out this time as I did not have any on hand) to the choc chips.

Roasted and Curried Butternut Squash Soup

Roasting always brings out the natural sweetness. I added a little cayenne pepper and some Garam Masala (an Indian spice) to make it nice and spicy. Loved the yogurt in it, my husband omitted it. The yogurt really provided a nice cool contrast to the spicy soup. Very Weight Watchers friendly.

Sarge's EZ Pulled Pork BBQ

Made it in my crock pot, which I have used all of two times in 3 years. I trimmed that big outer layer of fat off the pork shoulder (8 lbs by the way), and I cooked it overnight on low for 10 hours with a half a can of broth, a bottle of bbq sauce, and some cider vinegar that I used to rinse out the bbq sauce bottle (no coffee). I had salted and peppered the roast before hand. What I saw this morning at 6 AM was the most amazing tender meat I have ever seen. I literally pulled the bones out of the pot before I even tried to get the meat out because it all fell apart. I was left with a really good amount of liquid, which I refrigerated and have defatted, and it is going to be served with the pulled pork tonight. I may add more vinegar to it to give it a little more kick. Outstanding, hands down the easiest thing I have ever made, makes me want to look into using my crock pot a little more.

Slow Cooker Beef Stew I

I did this recipe the way it is written and the way it was suggested by another reviewer (brown the beef, 1/2 c flour, wine). Both ways were fine, so in the future if I do this again, I will just do the way it is written and save the extra steps. This was just OK for me, family enjoyed it.
