Cabbage and Rice

Reviewed: Oct. 22, 2007
First of all I have to make a reference to those that said this recipe was bland. Rice as most of us know doesn't have a lot of flavor to begin with and will also absorb flavor just like noodles will. Cabbage also doesn't have a lot of flavor. So if you are someone who likes things to have a lot of flavor and zip or zest this needs to have a few things added to it. I always add my own blend of seasonings to any recipe I make. Here is what I did to make the meal tasty. I used everything in the recipe, but instead of canned tomatoes I diced up a fresh tomato. I also added plenty of salt, some pepper, garlic, 1/2 cup of shredded pepper jack cheese and 1/4 cup of grated parmesan cheese. I didn't use the olive oil. Everyone in the family loved it. Including my kids!

Wedding Cake Frosting

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2007
My family usually doesn't do well with cake frosting because it's too sweet, but this recipe is great! It spreads on nice and thin and isn't sickeningly sweet. Not only that, but with a little powder meringue added it works well for decorating as well.

My first attempt at making a home made vegeterian lasagna and it was delicious! Much better than the ready made stuff from the store!

Vegetarian Penne

Great recipe! I used everything except for the squash because my local grocer didn't have the right kind. I added soft tofu and my own special seasonings in addition to the seasonings in the recipe. The whole family loved it!

Easy Slow Cooker French Dip

Loved it! Simple and tasty. Definitely need to add plenty of garlic and salt to the meat as it cooks though. I like lots of flavor!

Southwestern Black Bean Stew

Reviewed: Oct. 9, 2007
This is a pretty good recipe. I am cutting down on the red meat intake for the whole family and eating more veggies so I didn't add the ground beef and put in some onion instead. We are all garlic lovers so I put in 2 diced cloves of garlic which still ended up not being enough so next time I will add garlic powder as well. I think next time I will also try adding some fresh chopped cilantro for a little added flare

Spinach Cheese Bake

I think it will be tasty, but where does the milk fit in? When are you supposed to add it? It's in the ingredients, but it isn't in the explanation of how to put it together?
