About this Cook
Mother to 3 adult girls, 2 son-n-laws and 4 g'children. 32 yrs married to a southern type of eater. Disablities prevent prolong standing, bending & lifting heavy items.Looking for new cooking ideas and recipies.
My favorite things to cook
Now looking at lower calorie & carb dishes. Used to & good at cooking the fat laden & fried foods. As I get ideal & try different recipies, I'll report back on my favorite things.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Use to holding dinners for my huge family when I lived in Mi. as well as hosting dinner events. In Fl it's only for the 11 of us and sometimes up to a total of 25 people. Tradition for our family is to always have Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving & Xmas dinners together. My girls are more interested in the cooking process which is great. Coming up w/exact meas
My cooking triumphs
I can turn any tough cut of meat into a tender mouth watering one. I've had 2 many cooking triumphs to mention; but my most memorable one is having my husband beg for me to do all the cooking for our wedding 32 yrs ago, since he liked my cooking. I pulled off a 7 course menu for 150 people. Bakery did the cake. I now can decorate cakes thanks to a instruction class.
My cooking tragedies
After staying up day & nite for 3 days to complete the cooking for my wedding reception.I was so tired I dropped (my famous?)hot baked beans from the oven onto the floor, felled on them, spent an hr crying. Got married 12 hrs late, frizzy hair,no make-up and baggy eyed.
