I'm an Air Force wife, a mommy, college student, and learned how to cook when I lived on my own for three years. I'm also in the Air Force so cooking is a great way to remind me of home and my childhood when I cook some of the recipes my Mom and Grandma taught me. I also love reading, gardening, shopping, and spend a lot of time on my online classes. Getting ready for my master's degree in 2007.
My favorite things to cook
Filipino Adobo, spaghetti, lumpia (Filipino egg rolls), fried rice, grilled milkfish, sauerkraut/bratwurst, pasta dishes, broiled salmon, and pecan pie.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family have a lot of original Filipino recipes that my grandma brought with her to the US. They also love cooking pancit which is similar to Chinese noodles. My Mom taught me and my sister to baked some of the most delicious cookies!
My cooking triumphs
I cooked salmon rollade, pasta, and baked pecan pie for my friends in the Air Force when we had a get together. Everyone loved it and now they request for those salmon when we eat together in my house.
My cooking tragedies
I was cooking salmon for my friends and forgot that I put the oven on broil but timed it for the required time if I bake the salmon. The salmon was burned so bad I had to order pizza instead.
