Polish Sausage with Red Cabbage

Gave this four stars since I knew my Polish husband would not even taste the cabbage. He loved the sausage (even though there was "cabbage sauce" all over the kielbasa). Excellent flavor, consistency & basically ease of preparation. Next time I make this I may add some thinly sliced onion (not too much) to the cabbage. Maybe some carraway seed to the mixture (in memory of my Grandma's version).

Beef Fried Rice

This is my EXACT recipe from 30 years ago when the kiddies were little. It was one of the few meals I made that everyone loved & ate. There were never any leftovers! I'm making it tomorrow night....thanks Edith.

French Onion Soup V

I followed the recipe exactly & found it to be on the sweet/bland side. I added a little Worcestershire sauce to my bowl of soup & it improved the flavor a little. I probably won't make it again as the consistency was kind of thick & it seems to need a darker, richer beef broth than the canned variety.

Hamburger Potato Casserole

I made this exactly as written & it was excellent. If anyone found this "bland" it's because they didn't add enough salt & pepper. I also used Sharp cheddar cheese which gave it a lot of flavor. Will definitely make this again because I always have these ingredients in the house!

Brown Bean Chowder

This was exactly what I was looking for....didn't change a thing! These beans were my favorite school lunch in grade school. We called it Brown Bean Chili in Northern California.

Extreme Banana Nut Bread 'EBNB'

This is the best banana nut bread I ever made! There's no way we could let both loaves cool completely & wrap with foil & refrigerate for two hours. EBNB is my new, one & only banana bread recipe from now on. I'm passing this one on to friends & family!

Sugar-Free Bread Pudding with Whiskey Sauce

I substituted chopped pecans for the raisins (we don't like 'em) & this is by far the best bread pudding ever! I take it to pot lucks & even those who say they don't care for bread pudding want the recipe....I think it's the whiskey sauce.

Bread Machine Challah I

Excellent recipe. Taste and texture are very good. I might use a little less yeast than recipe called for because when the bread started baking, it rose even higher & touched the lid of the bread machine. It made terrific French Toast this morning!
