About this Cook
I am a 30 year old RN who lives on the Eastern Shore of Virginia I have been married for 3 years to the love of my life. I have 2 older sisters and a identical twin. I don't have any children but I do have a dog named Buddy and a beta fish. I have 7 neices and nephews and 1 great neice. I just lost my mom on August 1, 2008 to uterine cance which was devasting to my family. I still have my dad and we are all trying to live each day to the fullest. I think of my mom a lot especially when I cook because she was such a good cook and I didnt get a chance to learn some of her best recipes before she passed away. So that's one of the reasons i love this website. It has every imaginable recipe out there and the reviews are great:)
My favorite things to cook
Well I do like to try new things but working full time I have a lot of old stand byes but I LOVE to bake my family calls me betty crocker because I always want to bring a cake whenever we get together:)
My favorite family cooking traditions
as a child I remember my mom and dad cooking together in the kitchen one would make the entree and the other would make the side dish. but as i have grown we do a lot of pot lucks which is great because we all get to try out everyones recipes
My cooking triumphs
right now its' my pumpkin cheesecake from scratch when i made it thanksgiving last year I dropped it on the floor and I was determined this thanksgiving to make it again and I did and it turned out wonderful

Chai Tea Mix
I love chai tea it's my fave and I was excited to find a chai tea mix. I made it today and tried it. It was good but I think it had to much cream when I make it again I will cut down on some of creamers. I haven't tried it with milk perhaps that might make it taste better. All in all still a keeper :)

my mom used to make this salad and she passed away this year before she could give me any of her best recipes amd this tastes just like hers. I didnt use cauliflower and i doubled the dressing recipe but instead of 1 1/4 mayp i only used 1 cup (2 total) and it brought back a wonderful memory THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Supreme Pork Chops
My mom has been making the exact same recipe since I was a kid and this is the first time I have made it as an adult and it is so good. I did 2 different things. I put salt and pepper on the pork chops and I did bake it in a glass 13X9 pan covered in foil for 50mins and the I uncovered and baked it for 10mins. SO GOOD WITH RICE AND FRIED APPLES:)
